Great professor. She explains everything well, and her handouts are crystal clear. This was an interesting class and I really enjoyed it. In order to do well, you must do your homework so you understand the concepts. Overall, this is a great course.

Susan is a very kind and cheerful prof. She clearly knows her stuff, but had to pull it back for this intro course. LING 1000 is very basic. She has handouts every lecture. I barely used the textbook--except for tutorial assignments! So get the textbook or share, because you WILL need it for a good tutorial mark. The TA, Rick Grimm, was fantastic.

amazing prof. one of my most favorite at york... she is very articulate and clear with both content and instructions throughout the class. also very approachable she can always be seen after class chatting with students with questions about many external subject matters outside of the course, not just "wat does this mean". she made the class great

She seems kind of scary at first, but she is probably one of my favourite profs at York. She gives a review sheet before her tests and they are very easy if you go to all the classes. I didn't do any readings and got an A because lectures were so clear and thorough. She spent a bit too much time in class on the stupid people though.

Although i am a ling major, this course made me want to switch majors. She is super nice, but she was always discussing the same thing and it was never clear. You have to go to every class because there is always a handout. I did not enjoy this class.

Susan is wonderful. Explanations are thorough, content is interesting, practical, and relevant. Assignments are great tools in that they help you master material that you'll need to know for exams. I learned a lot! Very effective teacher. I'd recommend her to anyone.

Coming from a non-linguistics major, this class blew. She's all over the place and the course content is horrible. I got an A but it so wasn't worth the effort. This is NOT a bird course. and she is definitely not hot!
