dr. gans is a good, sweet prof. material is dry but she does her best with lecturing and making it understandable. many classmates did not use the book but i definitely needed it to supplement the lectures. 5 exams, lowest gets dropped. exams are tough. write down everything she says because anything could be on those exams. would take again

Dr. Gans the best person ever. She truly cares about her students and if you come to class, participate, and ask questions, you will get an A in her class with no problem. She can teach kind of quickly but she's amazing at explaining things you may not understand. If you study for her tests it's an easy A for sure.

Gans is great. She's hysterical and knows her stuff. The only thing I would have to say about her is that she's a little bit disorganized, some stuff on the syllabus and material on the tests don't match up. But as long as you study, you should be fine.

Comment:

She passionate, funny, & so sweet. She does her best to make everything easier to understand and apply it to things in our live. although taking both at the same time makes it difficult to remember what went to what class but they intertwine. the grading is just off 4 tests but as someone who is not a great test taker I still did relatively well.

Lectures were great but come to exam time you better be ready for any type of curve ball. Exams were missing questions, there weren't enough exam packets for everyone (etc.) If you're someone who needs to study off a review sheet THIS COURSE IS NOT FOR YOU. And IF she posted the review it was not until the day of.

She grades you on 3 writing assignments (if you do them, you get a 100%) and 4 tests; and drops the lowest test grade. She always made this class interesting even if we were going over boring topics pertaining to Biopsych. And she always spiced the lectures up with cool videos. No textbook for this class. I'm definitely taking her again.

Gans is not a bad Professor but she only grades based on 4 exams- she drops the lowest test score. Barely used the textbook (although some information was helpful for better understanding), because the exams were mainly based on the power point slides and WHAT SHE SAYS IN CLASS. I highly recommend a tutor if struggling because that helped me pass!

Prof Gans is an awesome professor very easy going, attendance isn't mandatory but you should go so you can get the notes. she does 4 tests and drops the lowest test grade which is awesome.

Honestly, she was a very irritating person who was all over the place but her class was very easy. We would sit on the same slide for, no exaggeration here, WEEKS at a time. I think she curved our final grades though.

This class was so easy. Tests were straight forward and her lectures were somewhat interesting. Attendance was not mandatory, and if you miss a class it is easy to catch up with the information. I am definitely taking this professor again.

For some reason a LOT of people never went to lecture, but if you go to her lectures you don't need to read the textbook. The things she lectures on are the only things on the exams and the people who skipped prob studied way more info than they had to. Really funny, makes lecture entertaining. Only grades are 4 exams and lowest score gets dropped

She's an awesome teacher! I would highly recommend her to anyone! I am trying to take her again in the spring! her lectures are good, attendance isn't mandatory which is a plus. not too many assignments are given. interesting material. she's super funny as well!

Took Gans for PSY 350 and 245 and loved her. Grades assignmentstests ASAP. Funny & understanding. Understands that life happens sometimes. Doesn't take attendance but it is mandatory to learn all the info.

Gans is this crazy awesome hippie professor. I highly recommend her. Although the content of Biopsychology of Motivation and Emotion is extremely difficult, she makes the class interesting and is always available to talk after. The course was all tests and she gave many chances for extra credit.

Comment:

Easily my favorite professor this semester. Gans is hilarious and intelligent. She genuinely cares about the material and wants you to pass. She's also so hypercaffeinated you can hear her li'l hummingbird-heartbeat from the back of the room. You don't need a textbook. The material's challenging, but she'll make sure you're good to go by test time.
