Dr. H-G is a nice person once you get to know her. This class had no tests, just 7 papers, a presentation, and you were required to attend 4 musical events on your own. It is a lot of reading and work, but not too challenging. She expects well written papers. This class will help you with writing, but can be boring if you do not like music.

She's very EASY, but you don't learn much. It's kind of a waste of time and money, even though it's an easy A. She's a simple grader, quite scatterbrained, and goes all over the place in her lectures. Take her class only if you don't want to be challenged.

there were no tests or quizzes in the music and culture class. just a lot of papers. she wasn't an easy grader on the papers either. one very easy project and presentation at the end. no final. class topics were somewhat interesting. unorganized too and seems a little lost sometimes.

Unorganized and scatterbrained but very knowledgable. She is fair and nice but sometimes hard to follow. Don't take a course with her unless it is Cape Verdean (ie 270). You listen to a lot of cool music in MUS270.
