Comment:

Dr. Susan Isaacs is one of the best Professors I have ever had. She is extremely knowledgeable. She is full of interesting experiences that she shares with her students (great life lessons) relating to a career in Art and Curating). She does an excellent job at putting together exhibitions and teaching.

Comment:

She never has discussions or assignments promised up when she says she will. And she spends most of the online lectures talking about herself and her own exhibits. Which honestly are rarely relevant and it just gets irritating. Not to mention she is very slow at grading assignments. She is just slow in general. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASSES!!

Incredibly unprepared when a teacher says they are assigning something to be due on a certain day that means post it before it's due, NOT 4 days later. And in PPs she drones on about things that aren't even important. This course is for MUSEUM STUDIES and she spent all of the time talking about art museums as if that is the only kind of museums!

Isaacs was an interesting professor. The class content is pretty difficult to get but if you ask her she will help you. Unfortunately you need to use the textbooks often. She gives two tests and a final, none are cumulative. She does give you the essay questions for the tests in advance for you to prepare though.

She seems like an interesting person to have an intelligent conversation with, but she is not a good teacher. She lectures about art theories, but does not explain what they mean. And most of the views on these theories are unique to the textbook, but the textbook is not even worth trying to understand bc it is even more confusing than her.

Seriously the worst professor I've ever had. Her comments are very rude and does not clarify what is required for the powerpoint assignments. I kept up with the work and put in a lot of effort for the online class and still did not get the grades I deserved. DO NOT TAKE HER.. unless you like reading emails that belittle you when you ask a question.

Would absolutely not recommend, despite it being a relatively easy A. She is knowledgeable but useless as a teacher, and what we cover in class is hardly what is even on the exams. Spends more time talking about unrelated things than actually teaching the class anything. Both text books are basically mandatory as you have to teach yourself. Avoid.

Shes not helpful besides getting back2 ur emails quickly. Online class she does not answer ur ques. She beats around the bush as if she has already clarified things, which is why your emailing to begin with when it takes a good 2/3 emails 2 receive an answer that belittles you. Her comm. is terrible- random emails have info scattered not in syll.

Knows her stuff and obviously enjoys teaching the topic, but is always very busy. Work load was manageable, but she did not always get things back quickly. She likes to talk about herself and how things in class relate back to her experiences a lot, which can get annoying. Easy class if you stay on top of the work she assigns.

knows her stufff but is always preoccupied with her "curating"of shows. Takes a while to grade stuff, but is a relatively easy grader. Tests are hard though, and you must remember about 75-90 slides gor the test.

she reminds me of a grumpy old humpty dumpty. the class is easy. no lectures,books, or tests. 1 field trip a week and then u write a BS 2-3 page paper on absolutely nothing using a lot of big words.better than sitting in a classroom so its worth it if you can deal with the isaacs infatuation with her voice
