Dr. Vincent is a great professor who cares about her students - but you have to earn her respect and work for your grade. She pushes you to work harder and think critically. She is very intelligent and very aware of her classroom (she is an anthropologist!) but I think students misunderstand Dr. Vincent. I always feel accomplished after her class.

EXTREMELY hard marker. Feedback makes it almost impossible to understand where your mark is coming from. Lectures are dependent on the reading that is assigned. Lectures are long and boring. Midterms and exam essay questions are worded strangely which results in poor understanding and low marks. I was able to get an 82, but a lot of work was put in

Feedback on papers consist of "No, no, no, no, no." Is not helpful when asking questions. She freaks out when the class hasn't kept up on the immense pile of readings she assigns and often storms out of class. Hardest marker I have ever had, and marks like you're not in your undergrad anymore, but rather your masters... DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Working with Susan one-on-one challenged me to think more critically and more in-depth than I had ever done before. As a result, I was able to learn valuable research and writing skills. You get what you give with her- If you show interest, and put in the work, her guidance and intelligence will undeniably have an effect on your academic career.

Susan can come off as a little intimidating if you are not used to her and is a little socially awkward, but she is a sweetheart! She's tough but very fair, if you put in the work you'll get a good mark. Class can be awkward if no one does the reading because she expects you to participate, speak up and don't be afraid to get it wrong.

Vincent made it clear she didn't want to be there, but back in Peru. She compared everything with Peru and talked about it constantly. She was aloof, pretentious and frequently used long, obscure terms not found in the dictionary. Textbook was dry and poorly edited. Maybe a brilliant researcher, but a poor teacher. Worst class of my career.

Worst class I have taken in all my studies. As a result of some of her offensive comments and boring nature/personally I will never take an Anthro class again :( So slow and the lecture goes no where, but her notes were clear but her requests for projects were not clear. She has a very round about way of doing things.

Randomly got in the 80s and I'm a science student. If u attend class, you get an easy 10%. Classes are very dry, but she gives you the info you need. Big hint on essay: LISTEN to what she wants and DO what she wants. That's all I did and did really well (81) and I have only written one essay in uni. Textbook was useful to purchase.

This professor demands attention even though her lectures are as dry as her personality. Cares very little wether or not the class is interested and is very vindictive towards the lack of participation that is generated by her attitude. Regular pop quizzes and in class assignments, i would never recommend taking this course.

This class was HORRIBLE! She would randomly start speaking Spanish even though only one person said they could speak it, and the readings were endless and horrible!! There were way too many of them!! She droned on about Peru so often than I almost fell asleep everyday! Exam was also a huge percentage of the mark, many people did poorly as a result

Overall - "meh." Vincent is knowledgeable, her classes are okay, and the topics covered are interesting. She is dry and kind of weird, almost ambivilant towards students, which would be seen as condesending. Also, a pretty hard marker. Globalization class was interesting but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it.

She is an excellent professor who takes a genuine interest in her students. Very supportive and helpful. She truly wants her students to do well. Maybe a little obsessed with Peru but she has a lot of research and knowledge to share. She likes to challenge students to think outside the box. She is the reason I changed my mind about STFX.

Vincent is a decent prof. I really enjoyed her classes. She does tend to drone on about Peru, but only because she genuinely loves her work and encourages others to take an interest in Anthropology. She takes attendance, not regularly but she will catch you every once in a while. Exams are easy and it's not hard to get 100 on small assignments

Terrible prof! Spends too much time off track and her tone will instantly make you fall asleep. She is a fairly hard marker as well and expects a lot out of little assignments that are only worth 5% of your grade. If you've been to Peru however you may be able to bond with her..haha
