Susan Whitney is a lovely Professor. If you engage in the lectures and participate your life will be sublime. She is funny, nice, and truly dedicated to her job! I would recommend this class to everyone.

I would avoid all future classes with her. Her class was quite dull and I did not learn anything from her. She really does not seem to know that much about a field in which she is a supposed expert. When asked a question, she often replies with, "Hmm, well, that's not really my field of expertise...moving on..."

Detailed and interesting. Good lecturer. Make sure take thorough notes in class and do all the readings for the exam. Essays are very analytical. DO NOT just regurgitate info, you have to think in this class.

Proff was teaching a hard course. It was heavy material. Harder then most courses I've taken, both in marking and in understanding/exam. If you take this course, do all reading, understand them well. It is a hard course.

okay im not even to midterms and i dont like it. she doesnt have an answer for any question claiming she was going to get to it soon, and she uses the excuse that "its not my area of expertise". i really feel i havent learned anything so far and learned much more in gr. 11 and 12 history in response to womens issues. take Prof Walsh..better insigh

Found her to be a good lecturer but at times was boring. Her lectures were what the course was based on and they related back to the exams. If you paid attention and took good notes you'd do great! She is a nice person and is understanding with any student's need when approached. Also her lectures were well laid out and easy to follow!

Understand those who claim she is elitist. Her main downfall though is that she is not very helpful outside of the classroom. Overall though she is smart, and the course material is very relevant to the subject.

I liked Whitney at first, but then her horrifically condescending attitude towards her students got on my nerves. A hard marker, which is fine, but she will also state the obscenely obvious at length in lectures and think she is doing students a favour.
