If you feel that you need to get better at writing papers for school, this is a great course to take. Ms. Bognar starts with the basics, making sure everyone has a solid foundation before moving on. She allows rewrites and does her best to answer any questions. She is somewhat strict, but her goal is for each student to succeed.

She gives the class a very calm atmosphere. She cancels class ALL the time, which is a plus sometimes and not other times. Tough grader, makes you work for your grade, but a lot of the assignments themselves aren't difficult. Allows you to redo many essays if you got a bad grade. A lot of her short stories are dark, but you get used to it.

She assigns a few quizzes but they're simple.. mostly just on little short novels she gave us to read. Assigned a few papers also.. I believe 2 or 3. Honestly shes not an easy grader (I got B's and C'S on my papers) but if you do bad on a paper she lets you re write. She was very sweet too.. she just speaks very slowly and calmy lol.

Worst teacher I've ever had to pay a class for. WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY, who still has the mindset of the 1970's. Do yourself the favor and don't take this low-class English professor, you're better off with any other professor at mdc. She doesn't deserve any of the money she earns when she can't even teach properly; For that i'd teach myself.

If you expect to learn something in this class about English grammar,To be honest you will learn absolutely nothing. We did small paragraphs of each topic through out the entire semester & an essay for our final. Overall she will go over the material once & expects you have learn it the next day. Not worth your money. Invest on someone else.
