Comment:

Sven is nice, but he talks forever; if he starts talking, dont expect him to stop anytime soon. You have one assigned project (designing 100 different mugs), but you have 2 weeks for it. Other than that you get to do what you want, project wise. I would take another class with him. Don't take his class if you want to learn, he won't teach you

Real nice guy! I would definitely take another class with him. Posts many tutorials, but also a real one if you're lost and need help. For me, Tuesday classes are not mandatory, but Thursdays are. He knows his stuff!

he's a great guy and his classes are very easy. He makes you self teach for everything, which is actually a very important process for entry GDs. That being said, he's an insane story teller. I've never met anyone who can create such ridiculous stories/lies. Great guy, just a little out there.

Sven is an amazing human with crazy accomplishments. Do not take computer art with him if you really want to learn how to do things. We learned how to do 6 different things but you have to self teach yourself. I am a communications major and wanted to learn how to create ads, that did not happen. Love him but did not love his class.

For this class you can do whatever project you want and then a daily sketchbook is kept. The sketchbook is the hard part but good for you if you're in the major. Have to buy a tablet pen ($80). He just kind of chats with a random student each day, very few critiques. Good for a portolio class or experimenting with digital media.

It is hard to explain how awesome Sven is. At first he seemed a little vague but he really is knowledgable and super helpful when you ask for assistance. Not to mention hes really funny and sarcastic. The assignments are fun and he explains how to use certain programs clearly. I'd definitely recommend him! You can tell he cares about his students.

There is nothing I can write for you to fully understand how wonderful Sven is. If you are serious about making it in the art world, then he can help you. If you are lazy then don't even bother b/c you won't make it as an artist anyways. I guarantee he knows more than you do so take him and you will learn something new every day!

Most sincere man I have ever met. He's dedicated to teaching his students and that is clear. He works to help us thrive as students AND individuals. He is a highly intelligent & incredible person and SUNY Oneonta is very lucky to have him. If you want to grow as an artist & person then take any of Sven Anderson's classes. Sven is a laid-back professor who is more than willing to help his students out. He's not the typical deadline kind of guy... if you need more time to develop your project, he'll give it to you. His projects are fun and cover a wide range of the spectrum. He is very knowledgeable and has a lot of great stories & insight. Take him!

Sven is a great teacher. He lets you do things on your own, so that could be a killer for some people that need that extra help but I think it actually benefits you. His classes are very artsy and creative, but he grades to how you can do and improve. Make sure you participate, there's not a true way to but just strike up a convo in some way.

I absolutely LOVE this guy-without a doubt my favorite teacher at Oneonta! He has a great sense of humor, really nice, and knows his stuff. Digital Paint really improved my digital portfolio. Sven is very talented and cares so much about his students. His students are the ones that come first, not him. He wants us all to succeed.

Sven has changed his act this semester. He's read the negative feedback and it shows. While it's true he's laid back, his TRUE VALUE is his advice for AFTER you graduate. Man's got plenty of incredible connections. If you want to learn Digital Art programs take Kathy Spitzhoff for Computer Art, but Sven's an EXCELLENT academic advisor.

all my computer courses have been with him so far at onoeonta. HE IS INCREDIBLE anyone who hates on him just didnt want to learn and probably sucked at computer art. His sarcasm is friendly and he tells you that upfront. Incredible guy. I suggest taking a computer class with him at least one time at SUNY oneonta
