Great professor! She is very nice and helpful outside of class, her lectures are interesting, and she is overall very knowledgeable about the global south. Make sure you go to the lectures and take good notes because you will need them to study for the midterms and exams!

Like others have mentioned, she's a strict marker. I recommend talking to her and showing her what you plan to write for the essay since you might get a better understanding of what she's looking for. Overall the subject is interesting but her lectures were pretty boring.

Very strict maker. This is the kind of course where the Qs in exams are "explain.." but the marking scheme requires very specific answers. Also, she pokes holes and critizes essays heavily.Apart from teaching I cant say shes a splendid researcher when I looked up some of the sources.

By far the Best Prof I have had in my 4 years at UW. She is very friendly and helpful. Lectures are very interesting and well organized. Don't really need the textbook but have to go to class as exam questions are based entirely on lectures.

Lectures are very detailed, but follow a logical flow, and are well-organized. She provided all possible questions for both the mid-term (only one) and final exam, and if you take good notes the answers are easy to find. Great prof. Textbook is not overly useful, but does provide more detail.

Korovkin is easily my favourite UW prof. I took 252 and 350 and would recommend you take her class before she retires. I learned so much, she's ridiculously smart and has a lot of field experience. Her classes are so enjoyable I was surprised when the time was up!

Great prof and a pretty easy marker. She put on my essay that it was not very good but I still got a 76 on it. The textbooks are not necessary except for supplementary information. Go to lectures and take notes and you will pass. I can't wait for 350A with her.

Prof. Korovkin's course on Third World Politics is amazing. At first, it feels like her accent will make things difficult, but she speaks slowly and clearly and is actually an amazing lecturer who will inspire you to study the issues brought up in class.
