I've only been taught by Professor Murphy in the Contemporary Contexts honors course. I'll probably re-rate him when I take an art history course with him. But I do know he's tough, and does not assume that you belong in his course until you prove yourself. That said, he's not a bad guy, and it's always good to have a challenging prof.

Murph is a unique person and teacher. He is very hard on you until you prove yourself as a worker. He has a healthy ego but at the same time can see himself clearly. I respected him as an artist and teacher, and in turn he gave me respect and challenged me to great heights. Wish there were more like him.
