Stay away from this prof. Save yourself a semester of misery. Horrible lecturer, horrible grader, horrible person. I regret not dropping this course immediately. It is impossible to do well in his course and its not even half way over yet. I repeat- save yourself and stay away from him. I'm a fifth year student- hes the worst prof ive ever had.

Beneath gruff exterior he is truly passionate about course material and providing students with thought provoking knowledge to live by. Repetitive lectures due to dense nature of course content. Comes across sarcastic and short but is very knowledgable, surprisingly understanding and accommodating. Not a bird course but do the work and u'll do well.

I studied with Ted Winslow in 2005-2006. As much as I remember physically being in his class being somewhat boring/hard to follow/easy to fall asleep, the material I learned has stayed with me more so than any other course I took for my bachelor's degree. It has seriously shaped my life. And the TA's was very helpful!

Repeats irrelevant points from 4+ weeks ago, falls behind in the material -- just an overall boring lecturer. The class has interesting reading material, however, which makes up for the painful 2 hours of in-lecture nonsense.

The content of this course is very interesting but can be extremely difficult if you don't put in the work or if you lack interest in the material. This course was by far the most enlightening course I have taken to date, but it was also one of the most difficult. The exams were very reasonable. Do not take this course if you expect an easy A.

This guy is a terrible prof. He's a nice guy, but his lectures are all over the place and he constantly repeats himself. Course material is interesting but the way he presents is boring and either overly simplistic or too convoluted. This guy is obsessed with talking about Grey goose vodka, sex and prostitutes!WHY! so gross.

Prof mumbles quite a bit, unintelligible lectures, has a very dated sense of humor. Not a good lecturer. Difficult course material but if u understand, it is gr8. PPs r just quotes pulled from readings. TAs r what matter. Learned more in tutorial than in class. Chris or Lee r good TAs. I did well b/c i wanted to learn & pushed thru the pain! LOL!!

This is the worst professor that you will ever encounter. He is boring, and you will literally fall asleep in his 2 hour lecture. He makes the hard content absolutly uncomprehensible and I want to kill myself every lecture.

This prof often fails to recognize the fact that not everyone has been studying this topic for half of their lives. Once you get past the initial overwhelming feeling, the course is do-able. The trick to this course is removing all possible distractions in lecture, because the prof doesn't keep your attention. Not a bad prof, but not a great one.

Avoid this course if you can. The lectures are boring and hard to follow, lecture notes are mostly quotes from the readings or other sources. There are a lot of readings, and they are hard to follow. T.A. Marc Weinstein is OK but he is always late and doesn't give a break in a 2 hour tutorial, and he talks too much.

Quiet and unique. Technology-friendly lectures, also traditional hand-writing note taking friendly. Very philosopical...and quite sometimes his words just go beyond my heads... Though very organized.

the class itself is pretty interesting, but i found it difficult to stay awake during lectures. his monotoned voice put me and mostly everyone else to sleep on a regular basis. if you go to tutorials, you'll be fine. lectures aren't a must.
