Prof. Manecan is a real asset and her value can't be measured. Her knowledge is unmatched, we are lucky because of her knowledge. She has so much passion towards her work. Nothing makes her happier when she knows that her students learned. you can ask her as many questions as you want after class, she gives her time generously. very kind Prof

I agree that Prof. Manecan is a real asset and her value can't be measured. Her knowledge is unmatched, and anyone who takes her class is so lucky. She has so much passion towards her work. Comment:

Take this course to boost ur GPA. It was the easiest A I have ever received. Don't buy the textbook, it is online. Quizzes & tests were pretty much open book. Just make sure to do ur notebook summaries, conclusions & attempt the activities & u'll be fine. Could get boring as ur not really required to apply yourself.

This professor is so into Geology, but fails to fully convey her knowledge to her students. DO NOT buy the textbook (it is online) and all two exams are open notebook. She is very confusing on her grading so even if you get 100s on everything, she makes up grades. Not the worst, but not the best. Good luck!

Comment:

Professor Manecan is one of the nicest professors not just in the Geo department, but overall at Hunter. She's always there for help whenever needed. She's very warm, welcoming and kind. The class wasn't too bad, just show up, do the assignments & easy A!

She is so sweet, knowledgeable and helpful, she can get a bit boring and not very clear at times but her class is very easy, all you have to do is show up and do the work & she will give you an A if she sees that you try (even if your answers are wrong, "you can always learn from your mistakes and correct them" as she says)

Prof. Manecan...If I walk away from this class learning 10% of what this Professor knows, I will be so grateful, because Prof. Manecan knows SOOO MUCH!! Easiest class I've ever taken, and the easiest A I've ever taken. The whole class all I did was fool around and joke, and pretty much just ddin't pay attention and I got an A. Just do the work (doesn't have to accurate answers etc) and put the tiny bit of effort to show up and you will be guaranteed an A. Just show up to class and memorize answers.

Take this class if you just want to fulfill the science GER requirement. Hands down one of the easiest classes I've taken at Hunter. I learned nothing, and found this class extremely boring, but Prof Manecan is really sweet and will pass you if she sees that you are at least trying. She is in love with what she teaches.

I'm an art major and I can't even give you the official definition of a rock, but I got an A. You can't understand a single word she says because of her accent, but she practically gives you the answers to exams--even during the exam. Take her but please be patient and understanding (RE accent). She is the sweetest lady you will ever meet!

She is one of the sweetest and nicest professors. She is very passionate about geology. The downside is her lectures are hard to follow and she can sometimes be hard to understand. However she is always willing to explain something again. The tests are easy, as they involve memorization.

She's a complete sweetheart, and I feel horrible for criticizing her. Geology is a fairly easy subject to grasp, and most of it is memorization. This is helpful because Prof can be difficult to understand due to her accent. But she's so passionate about rocks & minerals, if that makes up for anything.

Prof.Manecan is a sweet professor, just a little bit spacy and out of touch. I def recommend her GEOL 101 class and lab section. It is an easy A. Pretty much show up and write the labs and you will do fine. Even if you do not do well in the lecture you can do well in the lab and still get an A. Pretty much just show up to class.

She is really nice and helps you as much as possible. She is very easy if you have her for lab and she allows you to correct the exams. I hated lecture and loved lab. She gets so excited talking about minerals and that was really cute. Take her for the lab science because most of us got an A.
