This was an interesting class and she was an interesting professor. I didn't really agree with her views, but she gave very helpful feedback on the essay, and she was very willing to help her students. Be weary when taking this class, it definitely isn't for everyone.

Inspired critical thinking. Loved the course. The class is very unlike other university courses, so if you require lots of structure, it may not be for you. Material can be a bit confusing but Turner does a great job at explaining concepts.

Turner is a great prof, she is super knowledgeable, passionate and influential in her field. Unfortunatley that does not come across in class as she does not lecture. Go too office hours though and you'll get your own private one. Wish she would lecture more instead of assigning dull presentations!

Great professor! I've had her for 3 different courses throughout my 4 years at Guelph and disagree with anyone who says she's a poor instructor. She's extremely knowledgeable and passionate about her topics and always willing to help and give constructive feedback. She is a very fair marker and I would take any of her classes again!!

Such an influential, amazing woman... I wish she had lectured more rather than having the entire semester's lectures comprised of student presentations... but overall it was easily one of the most life-changing classes I've taken, all thanks to Prof. Turner. Grading was pretty easy, too, as long as you have a firm handle on your opinion.

Amazing professor, I am so fortunate to have had her. Even though this was not a classroom setting, I still feel I learned a lot from her. I would highly recommend for anyone who has the chance She is extremely intelligent and helpful and will make you feel competent in your abilities. I am so grateful I had the opportunity to work with her!

Terisa Turner has been the most influential professor that I have experienced within my four year university career. She has truly changed my view on life and I am so happy that I was given the opportunity to be in three of her classes. I am so fortunate to have had her during my last few semesters at Guelph. She deserves to be recognized!!

Very dynamic teacher. Opinionated but in a refreshing way that really makes you think. Students do a lot of teaching (through presentations) and it is very research based, but she is remarkably helpful, and seeing her in office hours is a treat

She told us many times that the final was not cumulative, and 12 hours before the final she changed her mind. She didn't do many lectures, it was all student presentations.

Prof Turner is very passionate about her job and as someone mentioned, she lays out what she expects of us and for those that choose not to listen or participate, then they lost out. She is VERY approachable and intelligent. The only thing I would change is to not have the class be dominated by presentations, I would have preferred lectures.

I was ready to drop this class three minutes into the first lecture, but I'm glad I stuck it out. She's definitely a prof who lays out her standards early and as long as the effort is made, you'll get great marks. She definitely values process over progress and tries to steer you in the right direction.

Waste of time - Class is taught via student presentations, not prof. She puts her own notes up online, which are so helpful that you wouldn't need to come to class if it wasn't for the mandatory trivial assignments each class. Course outline was so disjointed I could never figure out what to read. Should have just done this DE.

This is the best prof I have ever had! One who provides historical & pluralistic views, she supports and encourages students in the learning environment the way no other prof knows how. Turner makes herself so accessible you will have a new standard for professors; in fact, you are lucky to be in her class. Follow her into courses. Do the readings.

I can't stand her. Her method is to shove her extreme viewpoint down her students throats, then have us regurgitate it to her. She doesn't allow us to question her opinions, and provides no evidence to support her positions. She uses her students to teach her class, + we barely learn anything that way. I got yelled at for taking notes one day.

I did not like how the class was taught by the students themselves. I felt that there needed to be more of a direction. I wouldn't take another course with the prof.

I was quite challenged with the crazy amount of work but looking back on what she pushed us all to accomplish I'm really happy that I took this class. I was able to produce my best paper to date and she was soooo amazing about giving EVERYONE feed back with every step of the process. If you're willing to step up, she's willing to help you.
