She is a great professor, perhaps she does include a little too much reading for most students being freshmen. We all know that even for seniors, it is hard too get themselves to read all books. Freshmen just don't read, don't complain and get yourselves toguether. You either do it or don't! Amazing job professor. - JA

Boring, repeated lectures, lots of work, participation and attendance necessary. Three textbooks mandatory. A lot like a high school class with a lot of discussion. Easy to please her.

This class is about Ethnic Experiences, and she is all about that. She goes really deep into things, and it gets kind of annoying. You have to read like 4 books, and you actually have to read the books. A lot of group activities, boring 2 hour class. Also there' an online portfolio you have to do, and a lot of outside class things that must be done

If you do the requirements on the assignments, you'll get a good grade. I think I would have enjoyed the class if it was a different professor because she treated us like if we were still in high school.

The course information was amazing and she had really good intentions. I just wish she had been more outgoing or lively while teaching. She expects a lot from her students and everyone was always complaining because the class had a lot of work. My thoughts are that if you're in college, you should expect a lot of work. It was not difficult material

Worst teacher I have had thus far at CSUMB. She is completely unclear about her expectations and if you ask her for help, she responds insanely rude. She was never once helpful and has a bad attitude in general. She does not seem to enjoy teaching and it is scary that she is supposed to be "teaching" us to teach.

The one good thing I can say about Terri Wheeler is that she showed me exactly what kind of teacher I do not want to be. She is closed minded, and in-flexible to the students who are taking her class. How she is still teaching is beyond me.

The lady assigned us 5 books to read!!! My english class didn't even make me read that much. My advice don't take this class unless you want to finish a book every week and then write a 5 page paper on it. True to an FYS class biggest waste of my time.

I did not enjoy this class at all. She isn't a mean or strict teacher...shes just boring. Everyday we would sit in a circle and "discuss" the ilearn readings we were supposed to have read..yet nobody ever read so nobody ever talked in class. Don't buy the books... I didnt and I passed the class. She's a nice lady, I just didn't enjoy the class.

She isn't terrible but her class is. I understand that FYS is the biggest waste of time but some of the subject matter could've 1. been stronger & 2. had some consistency. I was constantly asking myself, why are you telling/showing me this? She has good intentions & is super quick in responding to emails which I REALLY liked.

Wheeler assigns so many projects for the semester, it's way too much work for 3 units. Projects are due at strange times, and assignments are mandatory and tedious. Liked some of the readings we had, but there should be another way to get a grade in a class besides writing a million papers. Don't take online if you can help it.

first off the whole idea of FYS is dumb, but that is not her fault. topic of storytelling was bland. Not much work was assigned in the beginning of the semester, but we did have a lot at the end, and it was all due in a relatively short time period. This made it so that I was unable to gage how she graded, and adjust my work accordingly.

im not just someone who fail classes all the time ima premed student with a 3.5gpa but OMG she is a terrible teacher byfar the worst i have ever had! She failed me for plaigerism on papers reviewd by CSUMBprofessors i would never recommend her to any student and avoid her class if at all possible, for those of you who cant god bless your souls..and
