He is definitely one of the top professors I have had throughout my years at York. There are a lot of readings to do for his class but as long as you put in the effort, you can expect a great grade. He listens to your concerns and is always there to answer any questions you may have. I would recommend him!

Here's the thing: Terry's a very nice guy, but he's out of his depths in theory. He's unprepared for class and rambles on and on to cover it up. I feel bad giving him a lower rating, but his theoretical capacities are limited. If you're looking for theoretical insight, definitely look elsewhere.

An interesting, friendly, helpful, and understanding prof. While some of the weekly readings can be dense, and his assignment questions are broad, hence some critical independent thinking -- I liked the class, did the work, and did well.

He's very approachable and enthusiastic. The readings are well selected and inexpensive he understands that the life of a university student is different than before. Students are working more in order to pay the increasing tuition and support themselves therefore overburdening them with dense readings would only make learning less enjoyable.

A good prof, doesn't like to user powerpoint too much but he is nonetheless an enthusiastic professor. If taking pols 1000, key to passing is attendance, readings, and you will get an A just like me :) (PS i never took notes in this class but still got an A)

Very lazy. His lectures are all over the place and he talks way to fast to understand and take notes. It takes a month to get back tests and essays! He cut down the class from 3 to 2 hours. His exam questions are very stupid.

Speaks englich as oppossed to Phd. Very personable. lectures are fun and informative if you pay attention b/c he teaches out of his head and there may be irrelevent filler between points. Take any cours he teaches. worth the money.

Class is a joke, course kit is a joke. Maley reduced the class to two hours, from four, and barely even goes that long. Speaks unpreparedly off the top of his head or summarizes readings in a superficial manner. For $500, he'll teach you that Mike Harris was bad and that Bob Rae was misunderstood. Which may be true, but I want more for my money.

Very good prof, gotta love his laugh. Teaches in a very clear manner, knowing that u re not a PhD and gotta understand what he says. He may try though to use more lecture time for actual class material. Overall-Maley is the man!
