Professor Matheson is a brilliant professor, who inspires lots of discussion amongst students. His course in Utopian/dystopian fiction is still the highlight of my university career, and his digressions always entertained.

TERRIBLE PROFESSOR! I went into his class being rather interested in satire and have come out hating it. He is condescending to his students. He does not teach well. He believes that being an English major is a waste of time (and yet he is an English professor, figure that one out). He does not explain concepts in a coherent manner and is a JERK.

Wonderful to listen to. Funny. Smart. Need to read the books and go to class. Tries to make things as easy as possible for the students. Going to his class was like going to be entertained. Very good material to read. All around great class.

Fantastic professor... Matheson is a very pleasant man and very approachable. He's very flexible with deadlines and very encouraging. He is also a hilarious guy and lectures are always very entertaining... he gets off topic very easily however. Great professor, brilliant and hilarious. I highly recommend him.

This is the second class that I've taken with Matheson, and I am considering taking my third next term. Great prof, makes me want to attend class...knows his stuff, and unlike other Eng. profs, he is open to new ideas/interpretations(will commend you if you offer something new). Stories are hilarious...he has talked to Johnny Cash on the phone!

He is an excellent professor. Funny, entertaining, engaging, and surprizingly human. Though he marks slightly harder than some of my other professors, I feel I am learning so much more. I actually look forward to his class and actually laugh out loud when he makes jokes.
