Comment:
He talks for 3 minutes and then disappears. He basically expects you to read his confusing lab manual and understand what he believes are instructions. The problem is he's the only physics lab instructor, so you will have to have him. One last note, his end of term evaluation is extremely redundant.

No help at all. Labs are a joke and boring as hell. Everything is so unorganized and confusing. I dreaded every single lab day.

These physics Labs are absolutely poorly put together and confusing as hell. Not intuitive at all doesnt relate to the course content. Also extremely tedious and boring.

Terry is a great instructor. If you read the manual prior to lab like you are expected to then you will complete it on time. If you find the manual confusing, you can ask questions once you are in lab. Many students don't realize they are not in high school anymore and that it is expected of them to prep in advance for labs.

Labs are so easy. He gives you a chance to get 135 marks out of the 100 you need. I had 97 after the first 100 and didn't need to do the last 3 labs. There are a million ways to calculate uncertainty and you don't always know which one to use. There is so many hand-ins the TAs dont read too closely, just check that you get the main points

The book and the course had no relevance to the lab. The lab reports were easy but a lot were expected each week. Only took the course because I had to. Have trouble understanding the lab manual and sometimes even the lecture at the beginning of each lab. He wont give you the answer but would show you how to do it which would be great.

One of the easiest labs ever, yet still suprisingly confusing... my IA knew absolutely nothing (still awesome though) and the lab manual was unclear in parts when explaining new terms (as was Terry)... considering 95% of the people were only taking the class because they had to (and didnt wanna be there), it was well done

Often too much work expected out of the lab reports, although he makes bonus marks that you can take advantage of.

This was my worst class of the week, not so much because it was bad, but because i did not like the material very much. Terry himself was decent, the lab manual (which he wrote) told us most of what we needed to know, but it could be quite vague, i found myself repeatedly asking Terry or our TA what it was that we were supposed to do.

Terry is a very smart guy and he conveys that very well to the class. The only problem is that his lab manual, which is coincidentally written by him, is terrible and shouldn't be forced upon us. I understood everything after asking him and the IA multiple times. But like I said, he is an amazing guy and he will help you if you have a problem.

I have had many lab instructors in the past, and Terry is one of the best in the field. Not only is he knowledge of the subject outstanding, (especially with computers and data organization), but he is also one of the most helpful lab instructors I have had. Overall, a truly excellent guy.

Comment:
Terry seems to not realize that a majority of students taking the class are not physics majors, which makes his jargon difficult to understand. The lab manual (written by him) is terribly unclear, and provides little to no assistance during the performance of the labs. Finally, Mr. Sturtevants explinations of the labs are very unclear.
