If you aren't reading the textbook before and after class, then you won't understand what you are doing. He sometimes spends (without exaggeration) half of the class answering questions about the homework, then he rushes through the actual material.

An all round alright teacher, if you can get over the fact that he sounds like Borat. All the quizzes were from questions assigned from the text book which made them easy, good job on the multipul choice exams aswell. A busy man though, since being named reasearch chair, so not much help when you ask for it.

Okay, so the tests and the quizzes weren't too bad, but where did the equations come from that he wrote on the board and why were none of them important normally. I found the course easy-ish and the lab easier, but I wouldn't take another course with him as the teacher, he just confused me.

Yes, he is a bit odd, and yes, he is hard to follow. You are just kind of sitting there wondering where he got the equations he just showed you. But his quizzes and exams were reasonable, and could be done with gr12 physics knowledge, so I can't complain that much.

He's very passionate about physics and reasonable when it comes to tests. However, he prefers upper year students. I had him for 131 and 132 as well and he seemed to enjoy teaching this class more. He let us pick midterm and quiz dates which was good. Overall, I think he's a good prof.
