You don't have to go to class to pass, but it can be interesting at times. The website is a huge mess...if you can find what you're looking for, more power to you. He cancelled all work except a few one-minute papers, the midterm, and the final. All work was done online. I got an A and barely lifted a finger all semester.

EASY CLASS! Just do the work and you'll be fine. Everything can be found on his website or IMDB.com for the TAKE-HOME TESTS! The semester I took his class he cancelled everything but the midterm and final (which was 1/2 made up of the midterm), and a couple 1 minute papers. Funny guy sometimes.

I mostly found myself drifting off and fantasizing about the films he and i might make together. ;) So those of you that are great appreciators of beauty like myself, I wouldn't recommend the class if you really wanna learn something. Tom is probably the worst professor I've ever had. Nothing he tells you in his lectures is found on the quizes or exams. Supposedly, all of the information you need is on the course website, but none of the links work, so you're on your own. I emailed him several times without getting any response. He's unclear and lazy, but the class is an easy A.

Very Easy Class! All you have to do is attend the first hour of class for lecture notes and you can easily get an A. He does assign students to take notes for those who miss class but their no help. Just pay attention to his lecture and you should do fine.

begley rocks! he knows his stuff, he'll tell you he knows his stuff, then he'll prove it to you. i learned a lot about film from this class. he's pretty blunt but it works, i would work on the website a bit. wonderful wonderful class!

I gave him a 1 for helpfulness because this class is so easy that you won't need any help getting an A. Just watch the movies, and write your 1 page paper on them and you've passed this GPA booster class. (His online homepage is too confusing and unorganized)
