He wont let you in the room after the class has started, he doesnt put up with cell phone use during class, and he gets a little perturbed when you dont read ur syllabus, but if you think about it, all of those things are understandable. Hes a really great man and very experianced in his subject. I made an A, I mean he GIves you the test questions!

Man i don't know why everyone hates on this guy. I understand that his jokes are corny and he can be a little over the top with his classroom rules but if you just go to class and abide by his rules it's all gravy baby. I mean come on he gives you the test questions. How hard is it to look up a few answers. I liked the class and it was easy.

Dr. Houston is really a great man.He is devoted to music and his students, but sometimes forget that his class is just an elective. He's sweethearted and you like music I recommend him, but if you don't like music avoid him

this class can be very easy if you just show up. attendance is mandatory in this class. the class is boring and so are all the videos BUT dr. houston can been somewhat interesting. he reviews before EVERY test so don't miss the review. he gives you the questions. if you do the review and go to the recitals required... easy "A"

This class is really easy. He reads each chapter to you in class. He does tend to ramble about pointless things. He takes role daily, every class you miss thats 3 points off your grade but you can make them up by going to any of his other classes. He gives you the review in the exact same order as the test so if you fail this class you're an idiot.

boring but easy class if you show up to the review the class before the tests and are able to write down the test as he reads you the question and correct answer. he takes a point off your final grade every class you miss, but you can make it up. he can't spit his words out and rambles about irrelevant topics, but he's a funny old man. :-)

This guy is crazy. He has a stupid attendance policy. The class is nothing but videos and classical nonsense tests over stuff he doesnt explain well at all. I wouldnt recomend him. On a different note, my friend took 1 of the 4 exams and still made a D. Odd.

You want an easy A, this is who you take. Attendance does count, however, he will let you attend any one of his other classes any day anytime during the year to make up absences. He reviews the entire test the class before. Buy the book, show up and you will get an A. You do have to attend musical events go to recitals they are faster than concerts
