Comment:

Reins is the king. He looks like Less Grossman from Tropic Thunder. He knows an incredible amount about what he's teaching and his tests/assignments are easy if you study. He offers a huge extra credit assignment at the end of each semester that easily raises your grade a full letter.

Comment:

I have always loved history and am a great student. His class was unorganized and hard to follow. He would forget what he had taught during the previous class. He talked a lot about his personal life and said many unprofessional jokes that were not necessary or even funny, just inappropriate. I agree with the people who said not to take this class!

His lectures were extremly boring, i rarly went to class and recieved a B-. At the end of the semester he gives extra credit opportuinty which is pretty easy, helps you raise your grade tremendously.

The people who rate him poorly are just bad students or lazy (sorry). His lectures are actually really interesting if you bothered to read and know what he's talking about. His tests are straight from the lecture/book. He is very helpful out of class and he even offers you an extra credit paper that is worth an _entire_ test! I mean, really people?

honestly he isn't as bad as everyone says. He isn't the easiest history teacher on campus thats for sure but if you go to his office hours he helps you out a lot and makes things easier to understand if you are confused.

he is a very boring professor!! his lectures make no sense at all. He makes me more confused about history. His test are not to bad. i got a C+ with only going a couple of times to class(it was pointless going)and if i did go to class i was not paying attention. Do NOT take this class. For such an easy class level he sure knows how to make it painful. The lectures are torturous and make little to no sense. He just starts off on some random fact and then goes on and on for an hour. Absolute waste of time. Take another teacher you'll be glad you did.

This is a last resort class only!! Very boring. You have to do a book review of a boring history book. The study guides are so vague and do absolutely nothing to help you on the test. The final was like reading a different language and i studied plus you can only do extra credit if you get a 70% on the book review which is therefore pointless!

Lectures are very boring. He is so broad in his lectures and expoects you to know the whole book. There is a long book review and 3 big tests. He will call you out in class if you are annoying him and go on about it for a long time. If you can, find another teacher.

Stay away! no homework, no classwork, no mandatory attendance, no powerpoints, talks the whole class. not an easy class. 4 tests. study guides so broad he'll give u one name and expect you to know everything about that one person. The whole study guide is like that so you dont even know how to study. He gets mad if your on your laptop or cell.

Reins is a good teacher BUT NOT FOR 300 A! He is smart, presents material well, but gives NO feedback on papers and really gives you no tips on your grammar, content, analyzing material, etc. Very hard to get feedback from this guy, screws u. If you really want to improve your writing, don't take him, you won't learn much, but you'll get an easy A.

He is very laid back, a little too laid back for comfort. It freaked me out, but in the end he graded papers very fairly. He gives one page "how-to" guides on how to write book report/final papers, and by following them I got A's. Let's class out early too.

He knows his material, that's for sure. The book is fairly useless, just go to class and hear his lectures, boring first few weeks but better later on. Class is pretty straightforward 4 tests and a 5 pg paper. Do the e.c.! I recommend him if you are a very good note-taker, he doesn't give you good notes on the board, but he says the important stuff

Do not take this professor for history. He is very unclear and goes on tangents and stories about things hardly relevant to the topic. At the end of the class you feel like you didn't learn anything at all. Study terms are vague too and he does not clarify them. Take someone else!

VERY boring. It is hard to comprehend what he is talking about and he tends to go off topic a lot. Hard to follow. He gives out key terms before the exams but they do not help at all. It's very broad words. If you have him, I'd transfer out. Not many people are doing "satisfactory" in his class.
