You get out of tom's classes are what you put into them. Just as a manager won't constantly tell you exactly what he expects, tom leaves you to understand the truth, you must take initiative. If you ask, he will give you the theory and application behind it, if you text all class, you will not learn. He's a good guy, but you must learn to learn!

He has extensive knowledge on electronics he just does not know how to teach effectively. Most of the class is doing labs so its almost a self study class. When he does lecture it is mostly him reading a powerpoint. Tests have material that was never covered. I think he gives people a decent final grade so he can avoid complaints.

This professor is incomprehensible and doesn't make any effort to try to make certain the class understands the material. He is quite abrasive, rude, and apathetic towards teaching in general. He is just downright horrible. If you ask me for advice, DO NOT GET IN THE ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY MAJOR!
