This guy was great! Midterms were just like the homework (so, pretty easy), final was a little harder. He explains stuff really clearly as long as you actually pay attention in lecture (I saw a lot of people on their phones that didn't do so well on the midterms). He gives optional homework that shows you what tests will be like.

Best class I have ever taken in Davis. Quizzes and tests are variations of the homework, so if you do the homework and understand the problems you will do well. He curves, but not much because averages for tests are pretty high. Grade is based off of quizzes, 2 midterms, and final; so homework is optional. Would highly recommend taking Strohmer!

Professor Strohmer has been my favorite teacher so far at Davis. His Lectures are clear and he tells funny stories to make the class interesting. The quizzes and tests are just like the HW so as long as you know how to do all the HW problems it should be fairly easy. His accent isnt hard to understand, and curves if class average is low.

Best professor in the math department at UCD besides Tavernetti, easiest class I had in the 21 series! Very clear about what will be on exams, tells funny stories during lecture. Take him if you can.

You should never take his class. He is basically copying text book and print content on the black board. He cannot, are not able to explain the content. If you want to develop your self-study skills, take his class. you wont learn anything in his classes. He gives quizzes every week, the content covered is not clear. He sets us up this quarter.

Very clear lectures. Relatively easy class compared to other math classes I've taken. Homework is VERY important. If you do the homework, and understand the problems very well, you will do well on his tests.

Strohmer was the best Math professor I had in UCD. He has really organized notes and only gives necessary information. HW is optional but necessary to get a good grade. Tests were fair and very similar to practice tests. He was hilarious and would tell us interesting stories. He has an Austrian accent, but after a day you should be used to it. Take

Best Math professor I've had at UCD! Gets to the point, and tells you what to study for each test! If you're one of those people who don't like proofs, this is your guy. I think we didn't even have a single proof on our tests! Midterm and Final was way easier than the quizzes (well for me lol). I highly recommend this professor!

Genuine professor, definitely focuses on getting you to learn the concepts behind the math and excels in doing so. Tests and quizzes are all based off the optional hw problems and are very straightforward. I highly recommend this professor!

Midterms and Quizzes were quite easy, final was also decent. Even though they are easy, the grading isn't always easy on the exam as it is almost impossible to get full points on a problem, always lose a few. Lectures are almost exactly of the book, writes small so sit in the front. Curve is almost non-existant since average on exams were high.

Strohmer is awesome! He's a funny guy. Always tells us funny stories in class. Very helpful and approachable. Exams are fair, averages were fairly high since he teaches so well. Very good professor. Definitely one of the best math professors at UC Davis. Has a thick Austrian accent but you can still understand him. Highly recommended!

He kind of screwed me over for other classes by deciding that stuff "wasn't important." Each time he is going to go over something, then decides it's not important, learn it on your own! I couldn't answer two questions on a final for a computer class because he skipped some "unimportant" topics

Pretty easy class. There are weekly quizzes in discussion, but they are easy especially if you do the homework. The midterm and final was easy as well if you do the homework. He does have an accent, so it was a bit hard to understand him in the beginning. He is funny which made the class enjoyable.

Strohmer is a very clear lecturer, and is very clear in his expectations for the class. So long as you follow them, you'll do perfectly fine. Make sure you do the homework; the quizzes are based on it and they're 15% of your grade. His practice exams are very similar to the actual exams. 15% of your grade is quizzes, 35% midterm, 50% final.

He's really funny sometimes, cracks random jokes. Quizzes were do-able. I did all the assigned homework AND extra odd numbers which I found was really helpful. His lecture notes could be organized in a better way, but it was understandable. Midterm and Final was definitely reasonable.
