Comment:

He is a helpful teacher when you ask for help. This is an easy A class, and is helpful for general computer knowledge. Attendence is not mandatory and the labs can be done at home. His tests are probably the easiest test I have ever written.

Tim is the nicest teacher I have ever had. Class is fairly easy, but you have to be able to actually do things with computers to get an A. I enjoyed his class and he's an awesome guy!

The only complaint I have concerning Tim is the lack of substance to his lectures. He's an easy marker and flexible on late submissions, he knows his subject matter well, and offers good help in the labs to those who ask for it. But the lecture content Tim offers is so thin that Comp241 could be delivered as an online course.

This class is depressing: prepare to have your time and money wasted. Equally depressing is the attitude (expressed in the post below) that students shouldn't expect to be taught in a college course. Really? You may not appreciate what is being taught, but you still expect the teacher to DO THEIR JOB. Worst "teacher" I've ever had, hands down.

Easy , ASP is something you should teach yourself and not expect others to teach you. Read a book. Understandably why he doesn't teach at the lectures. This course is meant to get you familiar with ASP and not be a master. Overall good guy.

Don't bother showing up. Totally useless and will often just show up to tell the class that he hadn't prepared anything for the day, so we can all go home. Didn't learn anything, but I still got an A!

This class was a joke. I seriously skipped every lecture except for 2 or 3. I finished with a A. A bloody A. The labs are a joke, the tests are a joke, the project is a joke, this whole course is awesome! DISCLAIMER: if you don't know anything about computers you will not have an easy time at this course, I am fairly savy.Class average was low

Tim is a really good teacher. He is late for class sometimes, so don't worry if he's late on the first day. He takes time for his students and is really flexible. Midterms and finals all multiple choice, and only on text material. Lecture attendance is not a must, but helps. He is really attentive and helpful in labs. I'd take him again.

I took COMP 240 the first time it was being offered and Ayers was teaching, what a huge mistake. I learned NOTHING AT ALL, and Ayers even changed the entire lab structure of the course halfway through the term. We did not cover all the material we were supposed to, either. Stay away if you can.

Tim (along with Steve Lang) are the two worst instructors in the Camosun CST Program. Tim is terribly unorganized and lazy. No class outline or preparation. Both 157 and 240 could be great courses with competent instructors. He should be fired!
