Do not take this professor. You will be tested by ridiculous standards including the name of an author he mentioned two weeks prior to the quiz or a book he has laying around in his office. Quizzes every week and a ridiculously long final. Must read the chapter every week and rely on the textbook because he will not teach you.

Pretty easy class once you figure out how he teaches. Lots of outside work but very easy to do well. I did not like him as a person at all (he can be very rude and condescending at times), but I learned a lot from his class and did well

Dr. Cannon is easy to understand once you figure out his odd methods of teaching. Mainly for stats you have to teach yourself. I spend way more time teaching myself the concepts since he does not go over them in class. There are two quizzes every week. Not a crappy professor, just be ready to teach yourself.

Similar to BNS, except more laid back. Fun class, pay attention and do the questions on the website. Tests are on what he lectures in plus the question. Gives presentations to boost your grade. Definitely take this class, especially the semester after BNS.

If you are the type of student who doesn't like to read and wants the teacher to explain everything in the book, and then just memorize and spit it back on a test, don't bother. If you want to leave the class feeling like you have REALLY learned something, and are prepared for future classes, then he's your guy. BEST classes I've ever taken.

Start studying early for practicals. Make sure you get a 100% on the electronics one, its a gift. Take notes on everything he says, just because he has so many good stories. It can be really fun if you put effort into it. Start looking at the sheep brain guide the first day. Last Practical is really tough, study in groups for it. He's a good guy

Walking encyclopedia. You have to read the textbook and you wont go over most of each chapter in class, as he will use his own lecture on the subject at hand. There is something due online multiple days a week. the curve is overstated on this site- while it is substantial, plenty of people don't get As, and a lot of people drop. Tough but fun.

He's a smart guy but the textbook is your best friend. Quizzes every week on last weeks material and recognizing key words from the next chapter. Lots of little weekly assignments. Quizzes are really hard but he curves grades like CRAZY. If you do the work and put in some effort, it's an easy A, but I'm glad its over. I did learn quite a bit.

Knows what he's talking about and tries to connect lectures to current happenings (Facebook page). Interesting lectures that will show up on weekly quizzes. Only 1 test (cumulative final) and quizzes galore. But he curves everything! Would recommend!!

One of my favorite classes I've taken. You learn a lot because he quizzes you very often, but reviewing the notes that often ensures that you learn the information. He's very helpful and goes over things, but he can be tough. He also curves like a monster so almost everyone gets an A. Great class.

The way he teaches, the subject matter is truly applicable to everything. The class isn't necessarily easy, but he explains things well. If you memorize stuff, you'll fail. If you try to understand it, you have nothing to worry about. He curves everything to give almost everyone an A.

Dr. Cannon is the most intelligent, kind and genuine person I've met. He cares a lot about his students. He goes off on tangents in class but you end up learning a lot more from it. Heavily relies on the book, but he picks them well. I've kept most of my books from his classes. Talk to him for 5 mins and you'll end up much smarter.

Dr. Cannon will challenge you. You will have every opportunity to succeed in his class, however you have to put in more effort than you are probably used to. This class is a lot of work, there's 2 quizzes a week, but if you buckle down and do what you're supposed to, like learning from the book, you can do very well.

You're basically your own worst enemy or potentially best friend in this class because if you're willing to put the time into this class you will surely get the grade you want. Dr.Cannon is a very genuine, unique human but I must admit, he does go off on a tangent sometimes- but that's fine because you're always going to learn something.Great class

Awesome. Really helpful, curves beyond belief. Read the book, and pay attention in lectures and you will have no problem getting an A. His "quizzes" may seem tough, but he curves so much it makes up for it. One of the best and most helpful professors at the U.
