Tim is the gem of the York Art dept. He starts from the view that students are there to learn and develop as artists and humans. He doesn't suffer fools and has been known to expose nonsense for what it is. Study with Tim while he's still here - but be committed and passionate about art - like him. A+++

I had Tim for a third-year drawing class. The projects were pretty repetitive, but valuable. He liked to talk in metaphors...a little too much sometimes. He liked students to answer their own questions and complete his sentences. I didn't think his marking was that bad.

Tim was a nice person, however he gave me the worst mark of my university career.. although at sometimes I deserved bad mark. I found his course hard to follow.. just not my style I guess

Most interesting and thought provoking professor of the arts at York. Its unfortunate that there is only one of him to go around. He has very clear and high expectations of his students.Don't take his courses if you think he is gonna take you by the hand
