Dr. Lutz is a nice guy, however this class is excruciatingly boring. he doesn't take attendance but there is in class assignments so you need to attend class. Would not take again, literally painful to sit through.

Very smart & nice man with a lot of interesting points to make. Very interesting class, mostly just have to show up, listen, watch videos, & read/write a few basic assignments

Dr. Lutz is one of the smartest professors at WCU with a genuine desire to teach geology and human impacts on the environment. He will help any student who may struggle and is very easy to get along with. I can see how some might struggle keeping up with him if they are already disinterested in the subject matter. Overall lucky to have had him!

Professor Lutz is very knowledge about sustainability but the class is extremely boring. Class is either lecture or watching films. 10 assignments throughout the semester count for most of your grade. Attendance is not taken, instead he checks D2L to see if you're clicking links, and turning assignments in on certain days. Easy A but so boring.

This is your warning. Trust me. Don't take this class. It doesn't matter if someone told you it was an easy A, it is ABSOLUTELY PAINFUL. Most boring professor ever, somehow goes over class-time every day even though he's not even talking about anything important, and makes us have one last lecture during the final exam time even with no final?

super easy but super boring class. no notes needed, you barely have to show up except to do one of the nine small assignments that make up your total grade (which you can hand in for full credit a week later). definitely seems like a nice guy, he just has a really hard time engaging the class. the class is an interesting concept though

Dr. Lutz is an interesting guy. He definitely cares that you actually learn, but he tends to be unclear with stuff. He also isn't super entertaining, but he knows what he's doing. Just make sure to go the extra mile with the assignments to get full credit.

Took this class for a credit. He's a good guy would bring in fruit for the class but class was painfully boring for the most part. It's group intensive but if you show up and do the in class and outside assignments you're fine. Takes points off for cell phone use and excessive absence.

Easy A. He posts online what you're doing for the day so that basically lets you know whether or not to show up. DO NOT go if you don't have to, he is the most boring professor i've ever had, like painfully boring. I wouldn't take him again just because i dreaded every class because it was so boring and he would go over class time.

Dr. Lutz is a smart man but I can't for the life of me figure out what he is trying to teach me. The entire semester I was confused about what the theme was and why any of this mattered. The upside is we had no exams and only about 6 or so assignments in total. Don't expect to learn too much in this class.

He is an older less energetic Mr. John Keating from the Dead Poet Society but for Humans & the Environment. If you haven't seen that movie, oh well. He's awesome.

He is the most boring professor I have ever taken. I've never heard a more monotoned person. He always goes to the very last second of the class and sometimes even over the class time. He's a tough grader even when you think your papers are A material. Don't take him, waste of time.

Dr. Lutz is a GREAT guy! If you are reading the other reviews about him being boring, those students probably aren't interested in the topics discussed and taught. Yes, he does make it very clear what sustainability is. If you love the environment and are in a Geoscience/environmental related major then you will think his class is very interesting!

Very nice professor who definitely cares a lot about the environment. This class is only graded based on worksheets--no tests, no finals, no note-taking. That being said, it is also a boring and tedious class.

This is the most pointless class ever. You don't take notes, or a final, or tests. If you complete the assignments and show up, you'll get an A. This class was to learn about sustainability and on the last day, he told us that we didn't learn any actual ways to promote sustainability. Do not waste your time if you have a choice!!!

If you want an easy A this is the class. If you want to have a class with even remotely some interest level, this is not your teacher. "What is sustainability"

Class is very easy, there are no tests or even a midterm/final, just worksheets. As long as you put some effort into the worksheets, you will pass. Lutz is also a pretty good professor. Very friendly and he knows his stuff, if you're interested in the subject he's great. Totally recommend.

I didn't like him. This was definitely the most boring class I took at West Chester. You basically sit there all class and listen to him talk. You don't take notes because there's no final or midterm, so literally.....you just sit there and listen to him speak about sustainability. BORIIIIIIINGGGGGGGGGGGG

Lutz was a great teacher! It's obvious he is passionate about the subject, and he is genuinely interested in what you have to say. It's an extremely easy A. Just do the assignments which are super easy, and you'll get an A.
