Comment:

Lectures arent necessary (he posts them online). Go to the lecture before tests and he basically tells you what to study, hes very clear on what you need to know. Pearson labs are tedious but very simple. The coding labs are pretty easy if you follow the directions carefully. Overall, easy A.

This class was very easy. You do not have to show up to lectures just read book and show up to the lecture before the midterm. He will tell you everything that is on midterm. Labs are meticulous and frustrating at points but doable. Solid class choice.

Comment:

Toby Gustafson keeps it real and tells you exactly what to do to get a good grade in this class. He does midterm review sessions which are very helpful. He talks very fast in his lectures so make sure to pay attention. Midterms are pretty straightforward, but I still recommend studying. The online labs are self-explanatory but time-consuming.

Comment:

Easiest Class on Campus. Never went to class EXCEPT FOR THE ONE BEFORE THE MIDTERMS (always go to those) I did all of my labs in the first two weeks of the quarter and just chilled. I studied for an hour before exams got B,B, and A. Passed the Class with an A. This is the best don't show up and pass the class.

The class is only "easy" for those who already had basic knowledge of computers. Otherwise, be prepared to work for a decent grade. You will have to memorize terms for the exams, which are all MC. The labs were not too confusing, but incredibly tedious. Toby is not a bad instructor, but he should teach another CS class. He seems very disinterested.

Good Professor, he keeps it real. Super nice guy too, go to office hours and don't underestimate the class. It might be an easy A if you actually put in the work and get everything done and study well.

The realest legend. He invented computers. Attendance is not mandatory but you should still go because he has pretty good jokes. DON'T CHEAT!!! He WILL catch you. Study for his exams and you'll be fine, don't procrastinate on the labs. Do the extra credit.

He's really funny and the class is an easy A. He will help you if you put in the work. Labs and textbook activities are easy. His jokes during lectures are hilarious. He cares about you and sends you reminders and updates grades every week.

Toby is kinda moody but his lectures are funny. His lectures are filled with jokes. When people tell you that this class is ez. THAT's BS unless there talking about labs. The average on exams is around a C- so better work hard for that A. Don't take this class too light because you will regret. Take it kinda serious and you'll be fine.

Iconic class at UCR, easy A! I missed a deadline and he still gave me credit for what I did. GO TO THE CLASS BEFORE THE MIDTERMS. He's literally pulled out the test and gave us the question for one of them.

Easy A, if you don't go to lecture just read the textbook. There's some extra credit you can get as well, but the tests are disgustingly easy. Also go to lecture the lecture before a midterm, he'll go over the content on the test. He's not a bad lecturer either, I'd take his class again if I had the chance.

Very easy!Paid about $110 for all required material. Labs worth 30%, very simple as you're given a step-by-step and T.A's helped if you had trouble. 3 midterms, each 20%, if you go to the lecture right before the midterm then he'll review what will be on it and what to skip over. Never went to a lecture other than the review & labs on days due.

A blessedly easy class. Just do all the labs, show up for the review session the lecture before the midterms/review it, and you'll get that A. I honestly don't see how you wouldn't tbh. He seemed chill and realistic about the attendance rate.

Most underrated professor. Hes so hilarious I love his humor! The class consists of 3 midterms (no finals) and are very easy, make sure you attend lecture before the exam hell tell you everything to study for. Sort of an expensive class to take bc you have to pay for several different services to do labs but hey its an easy A!

Easy class, no final just three midterms but they are all straight from the text book, attend the class before the midterm because he tells you everything that will be on exam and you can study from there. MYITlab is long and tedious but easy and the cloud9 assignments are also tedious but TA will help. Discussion attendance is optional

Professor Toby is really a fun professor who doesn't make class difficult. All homework and labs done are an automatic 100% as long as they are completed on time. It's a really easy class as long as you study for the midterms and do your work on time.

Easy class, you don't even need to show up for class as long as you 'read' (just study the terms) in the textbook. Review sessions the class before a midterm (NO FINAL) are super helpful. Overall a pretty funny guy, and you can tell he genuinely cares about his students passing. Plenty of chances for extra credit and so much cushioning from hw.
