Completely ineffective lecturer-- does not tend to answer questions from the students well. Gives snide, side-stepping remarks to most questions, especially if he doesn't know the answer. Was relatively easy to get 90%+ on the midterm, but watch out; the final is much more difficult than the midterm. No kinematics on my final.

MacLaughlan is a horrible lecturer because he doesn't give any examples similar to the exam questions. He rambles on about theory, but no cares because its like he's talking to himself. Everyone leaves after the first clicker quiz, watches movies on their laptops, or does lapwork from o-chem in this class because its so pointless.

this class was for the most part easy.he puts everything online, so u can go back and look it all up, but those clicker quizzes do really get u. u have to read, or have a nice person next to u who will tell u the answer. but he is an awesome prof who is funny and just so cute in a grandpa way

i only took this class to get my college breadth out of the way. i thought i would like astronomy, but he only bores me with all the information. his lectures/slides are almost exactly the same as the notes on ilearn. the only reason anyone goes to class is because of his "clicker-quizzes".

No one came to lecture cause the guy and the material are boring. All his lecture notes are online, so why go. Easy grader in terms of percentages, but strict with rules. My uncle had a heart attack and he wouldn't let me re-schedule an exam!

It's really sad that all of these comments are misleading because I HATE THIS TEACHER. He's very boring, over half the class doesn't go to lecture, and is a senile and bitter old man. The only good thing about him is that he's a liberal grader.

Very helpful professor, but the exams are a bit tricky. Very generous grader - he reuses some of his past questions which he gives you. 40% is passing, 60% is a B, 80% is an A. Seems pretty fair to me.
