Dr. Weaver is really an amazing guy. For such a tough class he made it enjoyable. He cracks jokes the entire time and really wants you to learn. You have to put your work in, however its biochem...... you're going to have to work hard with anyone. Weaver gave us the knowledge to succeed.

Writes notes with you but he goes so fast and hand writing is so messy it's hard to keep up. Felt like he was cramming all the info for series into survey- exams were extremely content heavy and I often struggled to know what to study. The booked helped. He's a nice guy, didn't have any trouble approaching for office hours- but need specific Qs.

Biochem is hard but, Dr. Weaver tries his best to breakdown the material so it is understandable for students. His notes are messy but he is not offended if you ask him to interpret his writing, listening to him helps. He is a very smart guy and funny too. Though I would never ever take biochem again, I would enjoy another class with Dr. Weaver.

He is really upbeat and funny, his lectures are good but his handwritten notes are illegible, I'm so thankful he started recording his lectures because I constantly misinterpreted his notes.

I liked him overall as a teacher. His exams were tough but fair. He handwrites all of his notes but has horrible handwriting so I definitely recommend going to class, not just getting his notes online. He's not very welcoming during office hours but it's still worth paying him a visit for extra clarity. Be sure to do all of the homework, it helps.

Laid back in lab. Doesn't care what your results are as long as you can explain them. Assignments were fairly easy if you pay attention to his prelab lectures and do careful experimental work. The final exam was hard but fair. Notes tend to be messy though.

It's a hard class and he knows it. He tries to make it fun, and keep lecture from getting too long. You're going to put in a lot of work to get a good grade.

Only take this class if it will be your #1 priority. Lectures are intense and cover a significant amount of material, so don't think you'll be fine skipping. Dr. Weaver's exams are difficult, but he doesn't surprise you with material; content on the exam was covered in lecture. Chm417 had a bad rep in the past, but he has truly tried to improve it.

He tends to put on at least a few problems on each test that were NEVER covered. This was very frusterating as no matter how much you studied the notes you wouldn't know the answers and seeing as how he said we didn't have to read the book. Don't even try to get any points back on tests, because even if you're right he will give you NOTHING back.

He makes biochem very enjoyable and do-able. It's a tough class because of the material, but if you study and engage yourself, you can succeed. Lab is fantastic with him too. two thumbs up.

Dr. Weaver was awesome. He was super approachable and would answer any questions you had threw email. I felt like the amount of material he went over was way more the new needed to know for the exams, but overall most of the exam topics were puller right from the book practice problems. I would definitely recommend him!

He did a nice job teaching until evals were complete. He did a complete 180 and after that gave an impossible test. Stuff on the test was stuff that he told us not to worry about. Also, wouldn't let any of us question what was on the test. I suggest avoiding if possible.

Dr. Weaver is a really nice guy, Biochem II is just HARD. He's teaching style is a little all over the place sometimes but I still feel like I did okay. Make sure you memorize mechanisms because that will help you immensely on the short answer portion of his tests.

This was a very hard class, to be expected for the upper level. The info presented seemed simple in class but the exams really tested how well you knew the material. GO TO REVIEW SESSIONS! Reading the book isn't necessary but helped a lot with the application of test questions.

Upper leval class, Test dont accurately reflect what he teaches. Test were somewhat unfair for the material covered. Was talented in chem untill reache semester 2. He is a generally a good person however, he should be more realistic abvout his expextations. I had other classes besides his, and in order to do well in his class had toscale back othrs

My first semester of biochem with him was great. It was the first time I ever did well in a chem class. The second semester, however, was horrible. It was like he suddenly became evil. The tests were crazy hard and he felt no sympathy. I still like him though. His lectures were interesting and he can be really nice.

He's a good guy, but detestable as a professor. His grading has caused people to drastically change their education, and this is an upper level class. Overall, he's good if you can click with his teaching style - if not, you're royally screwed. He'll fail you if he sees any chance!
