I wish other forestry profs took their teaching responsibilities this seriously. He is keenly interested in his field, works hard at it. He presents the material clearly and objectively. I admire him for his rigor and objectivity- he always seems to try to keep an open mind, which is difficult in the value-loaded field of resource management.
