I think he's very sweet and passionate about his work. I'm also strangely attracted to him but don't tell lol. But great guy and prof!! I would love to see a film with this guy and hear what he has to say about it afterwards - wouldn't that be interesting!

Comment:

Hanrahan is a saint. This man could talk about the primary exports of Malaysia for 4 hours and I would be left sitting, rapt, while he lectured. He has forgotten more about Film than I will ever know. I cannot recommend his classes enough. I only wish I could take more of his classes at once.

I don't necessarily always enjoy attending his class but not because of him as a prof just because I don't enjoy all the films or being there for so long. As a prof he is a really nice guy and very helpful. When I had questions about the essays and e-mailed him he replied with lengthly e-mails explaining things in extreme detail to help.

Tom is one of the nicest, warmest professors you will ever encounter. As an older student I greatly appreciated his wisdom and his sharing of his life experience.Tom is very hip(ask him about Woodstock).His course enlightened me to the great depth of the art of film. Listen to this man he has a lot of valuable insight. 5 stars.

He'd be ok if he didn't read off a piece of paper for 3 hours and show so many B&W silent films. There's so many other movies to explore. The lecture is 4 hours and it's 3 hour and 59 minutes too long.

this guys film knowledge is outstanding! Pay attention to what he has to say.. his stories impress! He gives everyone a fair chance to comment and elaborates on what anyone has to say no matter what.. he is truly interested in different opinions!my only advice? go to class and WRITE JOURNALS!...
