Tom Weise is a cool guy. He is funny and keeps the classroom atmosphere light. Like any class, your gonna get out of it what you put into it. Expect to do some research and a group project. This class was fun and worth taking. I recommend him. If you care, he cares.

Took his argumentation and debate class during the summer I thought it was going to be a difficult class becasue I dont like to speak infront of the class but I actually enjoyed it. I learned a lot from this class and appreciate Tom calling on me many of times to use an example it helped me in the class!

He has a lot of humor and does not make things so awkward when you are presenting. He makes you feel welcomed, BEST PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER HAD. He will make sure you succeed, there is no way of failing his class.

I learned so much from Dr. Weise. He expects you to act like an adult. Doesn't take role often but seems to know what students are missing when. Very good professor, and very fair.

Everyone student should take Tom Weise during their time at COS- he is hilarious and ridiculously smart. Not many assignments, but the few that are assigned are graded heavily. 100% recommend :)

If you ever have questions or need help he responds to emails and is available between classes too. Gives feedback if you ask for it. Not many assignments but they're heavily graded. Be prepared for jokes in class that some may find offensive. Overall great professor.

I recently had to write an essay about a time I was forced to step outside my comfort zone. Dr. Weise was always challenging me to dive deeper into the subject matter I would be debating and to examine things from worldviews other than my own. He always provided feedback and class was always interesting. Great Professor!

I took his summer comm008 class and it was SUPER EASY! Just try your best when presenting, and as long as he sees you putting in effort to becoming a better public speaker you'll pasS. TAKE HIS CLASS YOU WONT REGRET IT!!!

One of the best teachers on campus! Doesn't come to class often but when he's not in class, it gives us a great time to practice our group speeches and just get to know our group members. If your looking to do summer school that's easy, fast, and short, I recommend Tom's Comm 8 class or any of his comm classes

He is a good instructor, a little crude at times but is really nice to everyone in the class. He canceled class like 5 times in my semester. Make sure to listen to his feedback! He is picky on certain things. Just talk to him, give input, and be willing to try and you will do great.

I was so terrified to take a communication class so I decided to take the short version during the summer. Well, I didn't want it to end! Tom totally cured my fear of public speaking. By the second speech, I was totally relaxed and just had fun with it. He makes the class a comfortable environment for everyone and he gives great feedback.

By far the best professor at COS. I am a very shy person. I would rather live under a rock then actually have to talk to people let alone in front of the whole class. He made it fun an easy. Would definitely take again.

Your entire grade is based on 4 propositions, one group project, and two debates. Attendance is not required, but the more you are in class the better you will do on your speechdebate. Tom is very helpful, he does a lot of reviews you don't want to miss, and he is always willing to help.
