I took Tom's stats class in 2002. He influenced me & my critical thinking more than any other prof I've had. His lecture style is Socratic, and so the lessons are more conversation-like. So do yourself a favour & don't worry about the notes too much, just relax, listen & think. He'll lead you to the point eventually, & it'll all make sense. Cheers

He is a cute old man, but spends a lot of time talking about absolutely random things. I had him in night class, and just wished he would get on with the material!! The exams are tricky, because it's hard to know when to apply different concepts. Hard to conceptualize the problems. He'd be a great grandpa :) Lectures not needed, but help to clarify

Tom Wonnacott should not be a professor.oHe is the most useless senile old man to ever walk the earth and he is completely oblivious to the world around him. He's nice, granted, but he goes off on wild tangents during his classes, teaches you NOTHING, tests you on lecture material INARGUABLY NEVER COVERED.He has NO idea how to answer student questions

Definitely not a bird course. However, if you just make sure to go to class and take notes out of his unorganized lecture notes, you will get an A easily because exams aren't hard. First half semester was boring but the second half was interesting. And Dr. Wonnacott is fun to look at anyway.

I personally hated this course. I thought it would be easy, but it really wasn't. If you do take it, make sure you don't go into the morning classes-everyone is too tired to pay attention. His notes are also very disorganized. Nice prof, but definitely not a bird course.

Great prof. He explains concepts in a simple and logical way. Sometimes he teaches too slow, but it just makes for a relaxing class.

This year he hits the age of 75. I think it's time to retire. All he really does is ramble on...and on...and on...

Excellent prof - heck the guy has his PhD from Princeton Math. Very helpful and exciting, but the first half of the course is extremely stupid. Thank goodness that the latter half was at least somewhat exciting and wasn't so damn repetitive.

He's great - super nice, caring, and funny. Unlike some of the other evaluators here, I found his lectures to be very organized and the material easy to follow.

OMG, he graduated from Prinston. What the heck is he doing here. He knows too much. I guess that's why I have no idea what he is talking about.

This guy has a sense of humor like my grandpa, and that's a good thing. He's absolutely hilarious, the class is truly an enjoyable experience, though a little painful on the ribs

found that he was very scatterbrained and his lectures lacked any real semblance of order. But the course is probably one of western's few true bird courses left

Easies course, but one of my most enjoyable. Imagine your old grandpa getting up there for 2 hours and talking to you ... not boring in the least, but very insightful. Easiest but best experience ever.

Very dedicated teacher - but very ambiguous. He gives answers that are 10 minutes, but really should be 10 words.
