Comment:
I've never experienced such disrespect. I commit myself and work hard. She was condescending when responding to all the "stupid questions", IF she responded at all. She was absent from the "ask the professor" discussion board for at least a month. Instructions are unclear. If you work best in isolation and have broad shoulders you should be okay.

Very offensive language used in class, multiple students were visibly upset by her comments. Never take her class. The rude remarks and unorganized lectures are not worth it

Tracy is by far my favourite prof i've had. Attendance isn't mandatory, like any class if you don't show up, you won't learn. If you attend class she outlines assignments for you and goes into great detail. She goes above and beyond to help students, and is extremely empathetic and accommodating. Extremely hilarious and makes classes enjoyable!

She is one of the most accommodating professors. Whenever you need something, she is there. She tries to make boring classes fun. It is important to attend each class because she helps you with each assignment. As well, even when feeling ill, she made it to each class. Come to class and you'll get a 90. If you don't come, you will struggle.

She's unclear all the time and very unorganized and unprofessional. She often rambles and gets off topic which ends up wasting a lot learning time

Referred to herself as "a genius like Donald Trump" when introducing herself to the class. Lazy and does not get marks back, even though you need them in order to complete the next part of the major assignment. Very ignorant and puts students down for asking what she believes are "stupid questions" and refuses to answer them.

After reading these reviews, I was shocked. One of the best professors I have ever had. The course was very interesting and I learned a lot. She is very understanding about the stressors of University. I would take any course she teaches. I was never bored during any of her lectures.

Lectures are a joke, don't go; it's a waste of time. You learn nothing. She doesn't follow the slides, goes on tangents and repeats herself constantly. Only graded by weekly quizzes (you get 2 attempts), infographic/article review, and a group presentation. Put in the effort and you'll be okay. Don't buy the textbook; it's never used.

Tracy must have revised the syllabus recently judging by the negative reviews on here for SOC224. This is my easiest class - only weekly quizzes online, one presentation, and one assignment (choice of infographic or article review). Textbook reading not necessary. Lectures are interesting and not very structured. Tracy is a great person!!!

I loved this professor. She is caring, empathetic and knowledgeable. I enjoyed taking this class, and found the supplemental readings incredibly interesting and helpful. I also really enjoyed writing my final paper because Professor Peressini made the material so interesting. Thank you Professor Peressini.

Such an insane amount of reading. Made it impossible to both read and also understand everything because of just how much information there was to comprehend.

Comment:
Unbelievable. Have never taken a course with this much READING (to the point of exhaustion!). Plus, prof is not at all helpful. SERIOUSLY. The workload and lack of support mean that you should only take this class if you have a light semester. It's a shame, because the subject and material are really interesting, but the experience is unpleasant.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Seriously, GPA will drop. She's unclear with assignments and expectations, doesn't explain well, group presentations teach the class more than she does, and she's very ignorant. She won't listen to opinions and is judgemental. Numerous arguments with students, also said ARTS students make no money and have no future. Terrible!

This professor is a complete nightmare. I have never had such a bad professor in my life. She's very defensive when people ask questions and doesn't answer the questions directly but proceeds to actually "mock" students for asking redundant questions, that they should already know. Which defies the purpose of even having an instructor.

Great Prof. Brilliant and educated. Does not make the time for primadonas who are looking for an easy grade. She is knowledgeable and will go the extra mile to support those with a genuine interest to learn. Awesome prof

This prof has gotten a lot of flack from students for her attitude/unresponsiveness this term, however, I found her quite nice when I emailed her personally. She is a fair marker and willing to grant extensions on assignments if you have a valid reason. Her lectures and notes are very helpful. If you pay attention you will do fine in her class.

This professor is very amazing with great teaching style that incorporates true and real life examples to capture students attention. Also has a sense of humour which keeps everyone attuned and is honest and frank without sugar coating the truth. Professor Peressini has inspired me and I'm glad I took this class. She is one of kind

Horrible Professor. Takes questions and comments as a personal attack, and belittles anyone who dares ask her anything. She also terrorizes the discussion board, where students are trying to avoid her by addressing their questions to each other. To do well read instructions carefully. She tends to stick predominantly to her lecture material.

Don't expect to get any marks back unless they're the automatically updated, online quizzes. Holy! This course is a nightmare.
