Tests are difficult as they require a lot of memorization However it is not impossible to get an A He's really big on class participation and it will make a big difference in your final grade Make sure to take notes on basically everything he says if you don't want to get lost He's a nice guy but at times can be a little tough and can go off topic

This man is amazing! I had a C- in this class mid-semester and was going to drop the class but he worked with me and helped me get my grade up to an A. He cares so much about the students. GO TO HIM IF YOU NEED HELP! He wants you to do well in the class

Popmlun is a nice enough guy can be quite rude at times. Did not particularly like him as a professor too much, lectures all class and most of the time it has nothing to do with the material we are learning. The tests are borderline impossible but he makes up for it by being an easy grader. But a 10 page final paper and final exam?? Really dude.

Don't really have to do the readings because he tells you everything you need to know. Gives outlines for each lecture. They must be MEMORIZED for the tests. Tests are hard but straighforward if you take notes and study. Tells you exactly what kinds of questions to expect and everything.

There is a lot of reading in this course. We read 3 books and excerpts from journals and the Bible. His lectures are long but bearable and he is a very easy grader. Skipped class several times but still passed.

Walks in every day with a Cowboy hat and boots to match, fun and gives real life examples to dull topics discussed in class. Don't have to participate. Tests are easy all you have to do is study for 2 hours even if you have no idea whats going on in class. NEED to take notes! Gives outlines but lectures about information that will be on the test.

Professor Pomplun is a great professor. His tests are tough but he is a very fair grader. He gives you all the necessary knowledge in class to do well on his tests. A lot of reading since it is a theology course but he always goes over the readings the next day. He gives outline of what you need to know for the test which very helpful.

This guy loves the concept of discipline. He expects students to study a lot for his exams. Memorization is key to pass the tests. You don't need to read what he assigns. He gives one 12-page paper all year. For a theology teacher, I can't complain. He is very funny at times and has a lot of experience in the field. Attendance affects your grade.

Helps the auditory learners, does very little for visual. Gives an outline of the lecture before but doesn't have details on it. Used the blackboard twice for the whole semester. He goes on VERY long tangents, and can be hard to follow. Very easy grader on his tests. If you pay attention in class, you wont need to read.

Great Professor! Great sense of humor, overall an extremely generous person. Not biased, and very open minded to all religions. Took his intro class and then world religions, I recommend world religions, very interesting class.

The "Pope" was a number of things, including but not limited to-- cheery, charming, ludicrous, and seriously funny. But most devastatingly... scary-smart. My only complaint? All that talk of bolo-ties and he never did wear one during a public appearance.

I took Church and the Human Body this summer. I thought it would be horrible, I hate theology. Class was doable, pretty interesting towards the end. Only thing is there aren't many grades and the final was a lot of memorizing. Other than that it was a good class, and pomplun makes it interesting.

very arrogant and unprofessional professor, i do highly recommend that you dont take his course, gives tests that dont help you learn the material but merely forces you to memorize a bunch of biblical names and terms but not the actual meanings and purposes of the text. The guy won't even say hello to you if he passes by, I hope you read this Pomp

Course material is very challenging but as a grader Professor Pomplun is one of the easier ones you will have at Loyola. Tests based entirely on notes in class. Professor can be a bit arrogant at times, but has a good sense of humor and is accessible to students. Would recommend him to others.

completely out of his mind. i switched out of his class after the first day. talks way to slow, it took him an hour to go through the syllabus that was one page front and back. he seems like a really nice guy. everyone seems to like him. maybe i didnt give him a chance. i would not recommend taking him. makes you read the king james version, awful.
