Horrible professor . Disconnect between what he believes is a high level quality of teaching and what students are actually experiencing. Petition signed with over 200 students finally got administration to step in and him to step down from course. If you think you've had a bad prof you don't even know the half of it! Stay far away if you can.

Prof was told to step down from teaching this course. 3 quarters into the course. On behalf of 100s of students that have suffered in the fall 2018 semester, run away from any course that has his name on your timetable. He doesnt upload lecture notes. He didnt use Avenue to Learn. Class average of 50.6 % - he was a nightmare

Nice guy but doesn't know how to teach people to learn. Just spouts out info and doesnt provide you a resource online to go look back on what you learned. You can try to take notes but there's no guarantee you'll learn from them. Very inconsistent and disorganized. Most of the time you don't even know what you're learning. Just study the textbook.

Lectures weren't that useful. Studied only through the textbook and didn't attend classes beyond the first couple weeks. Not sure why so many people did so poorly, the test was not that difficult as people made it out to be (83%).

No matter how much you study, there's a rare chance of doing well. As an organized student, this class was all over the place, sometimes each core would have different notes. Even when a prof is hard you can study the textbook and do well, but in this course there was a 0% chance. My life went downhill after the first class. It was a nightmare!!

His exams, lectures & organization skills are bs. He is all over the place. He tells us not to read the textbook/do practice questions (if you hunddo wanna fail do that). The course structure is bs, no online resources (quizzes, assignments) because apparently, his time is too precious. I am straight A student but this prof ruined my life. AVOID!

Guess there's no class code 2FA3 yet? I'm in fact from his Commerce2FA3. Too bad you have to study in his class, too bad it's your mandatory course and you can't drop, since you have 3FA3 awaiting for you in the second semester. Wait and you will see. "I assume you already know this" Well, why would we need you then?

This class is okay IF you know how to prepare for his tests. Lectures serve no real purpose (he drones on and doesn't go through ANY examples with the class). Disclaimer: IF YOU WANT TO PASS HIS MIDTERMSEXAM - buy the custom courseware of previous midterms and exams. Learn the theory and then keep doing questions in those past tests over and over.

Most people fall asleep in his class. Hard to hear unless you sit at the front. He does not go through examples well at all and doesn't make an effort to show calculations on PowerPoint or projector. His teaching style for this type of class is terrible.

The best prof at mcmaster, hands down. The course can be difficult but every course material like the courseware, textbook and exam package prepares you. He is the nicest prof I have ever met and doesn't throw random questions onto the midterm. Makes finance seem easy, understandable and interesting!

it's pointless going to his class - he passes articles around and goes off topic for 15 mins and expects you to get back on track when he starts about finance again. i found the exam package/lecture notes helpful, but skip class and spend the time reading the text/lecture notes and you'll get 7+

He is a very approachable and helpful professor, and will go out of his way to help with class questions or other advice. The material is challenging, though his previous exams are a VERY good indicator of how you will do on the current year's exams. If you learn the theory and read the book, not just memorize question answers, you will do well.

Class's were useless, he didn't teach instead had a discussion with us mostly about his family, farm or friends. The exam was as unfair as him, and at end of the class you leave learning nothing, but your memorization skills improve!

After Brandon hall burned down and people still wrote the midterm on 2hrs sleep he said 'thats life'. When asked to slow down and not skip over things that would "insult our intelligence" his response was "I'm not going to baby you". Saturday classes are a total waste of time! best way to study is to do a midterm WITHOUT looking at the answers.

he was a very friendly prof and very fair on his midterms. his final is killer though -- but if you study hard for it -- you'll get the grade you desire. study study study!
