Comment:
Dr. Sayman uses MasteringPhysics for homework, which was 10% of the overall grade. Another 10% of the overall grade was attendance. Tests are 50% of the grade, and there are 4 total exams. The final was the 4th exam, and it was not cumulative. He is actively helpful when students have issues. He is the best professor of physics in the department.

I gave up in his class. I had no idea what was going on. He doesn't post grades at all. I learned nothing. No one knew what was going on. He's funny but things are unclear.

Sayman really cares for his students. He gives a packet of question and then quizzes you the exact same problems but with different numbers. The only problem is that he took too long with the first chapter so the other chapters we had less time to study for. There are only quizzes and NO final exam. I got over 100% on quizzes due to extra credit.

By far the easiest physics professor. 11 quizzes made up the whole grade. Lowest quiz dropped. Quizzes were all multiple choice. Half physics concepts, half math problems. The math problems were the easy basic problems that didnt take long to do. The problems are just like the homework which is not graded. Huge curve at the end also

I took him twice, W cause lab. First time the grade was based on just 4 exams only. The second time the grade was based on just 11 quizzes only. No extra credit. But he did curve grades at the end. Homework is not graded but it is very similar to the test/quizzes. The only problem is that he assigns a book with 70% of the wrong answer in the back.

Professor Sayman is a nice man, but unfortunately I don't think he's that great of a teacher. It rambles on and on, and theres been points where students have to correct his mistakes. He's hard to understand, and his lectures are very long and boring.

Without this professor, i wouldn't have never passed physics with how horrible the physics professor are at eastern mi. He is the only physics professor that cares about your grade. He will do anything in his power to help your grade, if thats extra credit, or just boosting grades overall. We only had quizzes, and they were from homework.

I found this class extremely difficult, and many of my classmates did too. It was a little hard to follow the lectures, but I began to wonder if it is just because I had zero background in this subject. Perhaps its not him. I went to him for help a few times, and also attended the SI sessions. He helped tremendously. Good luck, it's tricky.

This is seriously the worst class in the world. I have always been a great student and I got flat out F! If you want to pass this class make sure you have extra time for the SI (since she's the one writing the test.)

He is foregin and hard to understand. The material tought was very confusing. He makes simple concepts difficult to understand. Your tests are over 3 chapters at a time and are very difficult. Tests are all your grade is based on so its a very tough class.

Mr. Sayman is great. He loves physics, and expects you to know it. Work with the SI if possible. Go to class. Take notes. Practice. Study. He truly is a great guy if you get to know him as an individual. He's entertaining and funny. Respect him, and he will respect you.

If you want to pass, take notes, do the worksheets he gives, and pay attention. He gives you what you need, and he expects you to work for it. He likes to word things differently to make sure you know your CONTENT. He does have the interest of the class at heart. It can be hard to understand him, but he does like to crack jokes!

This Excellent educator is victim of the Most Hostile department imaginable. I would love to have a professor like him for every class, but I refuse to ever take another Physics class at EMU, and I need two more because I failed the Lab- because Marlatt & Jacobs clearly despise Biology Majors. Going to Comm. Coll. for future classes. EMU PHY=FAIL!

Very quiet and doesn't answer questions very well. Does give options for extra credit but exams can be very tricky. There is no schedule what so ever with this class you don't know when exams are scheduled sometimes until the day before. Would not recommend this professor especially if you struggle with physics.

Attendance isn't mandatory, but if you want to do well, then you must attend. We didn't use the book at all, but did use the practice guide and took lots of notes. He posts questions on each chapter online and answers as study guides. Gets his test questions from them. Helpful and offers extra credit if needed. Nice and funny:)

I liked him much better for PHY 100. This class was unbearably boring. We basically met, sat there, did an elementary level experiment and then left. I think only once we wrote a lab report. A few small projects are assigned. I did them all in one sitting. I know I shouldn't complain that it was too easy, but it absolutely was. Nice guy though!

Very charming and his accent is enjoyable to hear. You NEED to go to class or your grade will drop because he collects in class homework almost every day. If you study the multiple choice questions he gives you the tests aren't hard, just be careful of wording, because he will try to trick you! Overall he was OK.

He and the class were okay. We did a bunch of experiments to use in the classroom but he's not real clear on some expectations so you'll need to pay attention. Attendance is a must; it can really bring down your grade. I missed class for an emergency and he wouldn't accept an excuse. 2 presentations, attendance, some homework. No quizzes for us.

If you're good in physics, this class will be a breeze. he gives great reviews for all his tests. tests were multiple choice. attendance isn't mandatory, but I recommend because it's hard to catch up. overall, good teacher and would recommend taking him.
