As an English major, I took many classes from Val. I can't imagine anyone NOT liking her; she's amazing and inspiring. When I began teaching, at first I missed the safety and comfort of Val's class (Val's Gals and 2 Pals!), but then I realized that she had prepared me so well for my new job! What great memories.

Val was incredible. I'm teaching mostly English now even though it was only my minor, and by pulling out old class notes and the textbook I'm able to use her great ideas and suggestions. If you aspire to become an English teacher, you have to take her class!
