I loved Dr. Kincade. He is sooo funny! You have to show up for class to pass, because part of your tests are things that he'll talk about from his lectures. If you study, you'll do well. I'm not a history major, but his class was my favorite last semester! I would definitely recommend him! :)

Everything is revolved around the readings. Went through two textbooks in one semester with him. He doesn't give tests, only quizzes and if you don't do the homework you aren't passing either. He isn't a bad person to listen to but you need to write everything down!

Easiest college course i've ever had. There's homework every week so definitely get the text. His lectures are super long and confusing... I never took notes. He wasn't very clear as to what would be on the test but he gives you the essay before hand and lets you use notes for it. Great guy.

Funny, fun guy! Really knows his stuff. Made history very interesting. He lectures the entire class, study the details of the topics he writes on the board. Turn in responses to the weekly textbook readings. Quizzes can be tough, but aren't the majority of the grades. A cool project at the end-interview an older family member!

I HATED history until I had him. He actually made me care about what I was learning. The class isn't hard at all if you just take notes while he lectures. He's fun, funny, and very smart. You will fail his quizzes if you don't study. Just work hard and you won't have any trouble

Attendance wasn't mandatory, but he taught so much material each class that I was afraid to miss even 15 minutes. He teaches A LOT in a short amount of time and the tests are based on about 20 pages of notes. His assignments are a lot easier than his tests, but he makes fun of people that don't do well on the papers.

Lectures, no ppt or study guides. 3 tests covering TONS of material. You have no idea what to study. Only count 5 pts. each. Essays & Oral History paper are most of your grade. They are really easy to do & get an A. Have to come to class because tests are on lectures.

We had three tests and two papers. The tests were pretty hard. They didnt have much material on them so it was hard to know what to study. For the papers you need to read a book that is about 200 pages (that is very boring) and write a 4 page paper on it. He was a pretty easy grader for the essays but not the tests!

There are only 3 quizes that are worth alot of points and cover alot of material. 4 essays which are your main grade and are about the articles you read. History project will kill you if you dont truely get into it.

Professor Kincade does not require that students show up to class, but why wouldnt you want to go? He makes it extremely interesting. Take notes (i mean, CONSTANT writing), read the book, and show up for class, and you should get a B. Tests are a bit hard to get used to...

He was an awesome teacher. I didn't really like history, but he made it fun and jokes around a lot. Read the articles he gives you and take notes in class and you will get an A. He will say whats on the quizzes and thats exactly what is on there. Great professor I highly recommend him!

i'm not the biggest fan of history, but i thoroughly enjoy kincade's classes. he incorporates his own goofy stories into what we're studying. he requires a decent amount of reading if you keep up each week, but it's worth it on the tests. his tests are challenging, but not that bad. i highly recommend him as a professor.

Anyone that says Prof. Kincade is bad hasn't taken him. For people that don't like history he makes it interesting and even though he lectures almost 100% of the time, he encourages classroom participation. He NEEDS to be tenured at WCU, he is a wealth of knowledge and knows how to use it.
