Comment:

Lectures are very long and boring since she just basically reads the slides. Your better off just reading the textbook rather than going to class. Tests were a bit inconsistent so don't believe her when she says that something will not be on the test because chances are, IT WILL BE THERE. This course sort of decreased my interest in the nursing.

Is very nice. But when it comes to missing class and exams she will phone your house. Is a very hard marker. Exams don't make sense sometimes

Pretty easy course, use her slides as a guideline of what to study and then read the textbook from there. Test format is usually 40 MC and then 4 short answers (short answers are the tricky part)

She is very helpful when it comes to assignments as you do a group (4 people) paper. Her exams aren't hard but require reading the textbook and notes, she's a good prof overall. Her notes are organized and its an interesting class. I received an A but you do definitely need to study.

Verna is AWESOME! Seriously, she is awesome! Easily one of the best profs I've ever had! She's SO sweet and kind as well. Just love her! Plus, she gave us fish stickers! LOVE HER. :)

She reads DIRECTLY from her slides, and makes everything sound absolutely BORING. If you are put into this class, I suggest you drop out right away unless you want to put up with her rudeness & disorganization. Not a very good professor, very disorganized & doesn't understand a word she's saying.

Verna has this amazing skill: she makes interesting material absolutely boring. She is also very slow at getting grades back to you. Tests are manageable, but by no means a cake walk. Avoid her at all costs. She isn't good...at all.

Verna is a very good lady but makes class very boring. You can skip the class and just read the textbook and notes on your own and get a good grade since she just reads from her notes for the whole class. I will add you MUST at least skim the textbook, her slide notes are very good for studying but do leave out some stuff. Test wording is confusing

Unintentionally or not, Verna is hands-down one of the most hilarious UofM profs. Going to class is optional, but you'll get some great laughs out of it. She has AMAZING pronunciations (chlaMADia), and the tests are simple if you have any common sense at all/can use logic. She drew a stick figure obese person and changed its smile to a frown. LOL!

Not a hard course. If you're aiming for a B+ or so, I would skip reading the textbook and just go to class. I read the textbook and went to class and got an A.... Assignments are not too hard. She's a nice lady overall.Oh, and I did not find the study guide necessary.

Remarkably defensive in response to questions. Refuses to admit when a test question is poorly written or doesn't make sense. Which is really frustrating. Some tests questions were deliberately stated in a way to be tricky.. which Verna admitted. Grammar errors also made q's nonsensical. Usually super rude.. occasionally flattering.

Don't go to classif you have read the textbook. She does add in the odd study that she will test on or the odd comment but for the most part what she says apart from the notes are WORD FOR WORD from the textbook. Tests are AWFUL, and study guide is useless because it's filled with errors. Very contradicting. Genuinely nice person though.

I hated taking NURS 1260 with her! I have been in uni 3 yrs now& she is hands down the worst prof i have ever had! She is rude, condescending, talks Down to students. She stopped in the middle of a lecture to yell at student who was ONLY looking at Their phone. Very hard to get a Hold of through email or phone! Every interaction w/her was negative

Verna is the singularly most uninteresting person I have ever met. Her focus on family health care does not match up with my own interests so this probably has alot to do with the fact that the information she lectured on often rated a zero on my scale of interest. Get in, get out....asap!

I loved this class. Verna can come off as mean sometimes, but if you stick the class out you'll find that she is actually very nice, and cares about her students. Shes funny too!Go to class,get the study guide, and use that combined with your text to study. read over the notes which she posts on jump. This course is an easy gpa booster if you study

Nice lady, encouraging. Must read the text for test, don't just only study the power points because she picks random questions out of the text. Heard the Study guide was extremely useful- it was too late for me by the time I found that out. Going to class is your call, all power points on jump, but u must study to get a good mark! 4 tests,2 papers
