Cabas is the man. He is hilarious and he very willing to put in the extra effort to help you. The guy tells great stories when he isn't talking about Blood Meridian. There is no reason to do bad in this class either because he gives you every opportunity to fix and rewrite your essays. Also a plus, he will occasionally bring his dog to class.

Cabas is by far the greatest professor I've had at HSC. After he tears apart your first draft, he is helpful in fixing your papers, and while he may seem in your face at first, he will soon become your favorite professor. Any one who is looking at taking 101 from another professor needs to reconsider and choose Cabas.

This man will seem very intense at first given his no-nonsense approach towards the subject matter; however, because of him I have gone on to become a much better writer than I ever previously thought I'd ever be. The class is frustrating, but in the end you'll probably be the best writer out of the people you know because of it.

15 years later and I still use "Suzy Q, BMW, BBQ" on a regular basis. A superb educator who cares more about the development of his students than the grade given out. Dr. Cabas' class was hands down the most useful class I took at HSC.

One of the best teachers I ever had. Previous to his course I was not a great writer and didn't like it. Since his course, and because of it, I went to grad school, aced the GRE writing exam, passed the HSC rhetoric exam, and worked as a writer for newspapers and have transformed writing from a weakness into a professional strength. Thanks VIC!

Ol? Vick is one of a kind. He is a hell of a character, and he knows his stuff. I took Cabas as a freshman, and now as a senior, I can say that his class was probably my most valuable class at Sydney. To this day I have yet to figure out what, exactly, is a ?beady eyed morab.?

Seriously he is one of the best teachers I have ever had. He is not only hilarious, but he teaches you your stuff. He operates off of fairness: if you try you will get good grades. Homework is mostly papers, which do take a lot of time, but you will improve a lot at writing and have countless stories to tell your friends who have lame teachers.
