Very nice as a person. As a teacher, not so. She gives very difficult exams, as well as lots of projects, and is a very tough grader. Doesn't give clear guidelines on her projects.

Amazing teacher, amazing person. 10/10 loved her. She teaches really well and knows what shes doing. Also helped me a ton with registration when my advisor didnt.

As great a human being as a professor. Lovely woman who truly cares about the subjects she teaches. I felt like she really knew what she was talking about and going to her class was not as agonizing as other classes I've taken in the past.

Hong is a great professor so far! I am in her remote class so I only see here on the tv screen. Even with the lack of face to face communication she tries her best to help every student that SAYS that they need help with some code. She is quick with replying to emails! Great first COM professor

Prof. Hong knows her stuff and has a great sense of humor. But don't take this as a sign of weakness. She expects assignments to be turned in on time, and will work with you if you have challenging situations. For example, I traveled a lot for work and she worked with me so I could complete all the work required.

Nice professor. I did bad in this class because I didn't buy the book so half of the time I had to figure out the codes by the lecture notes. If you're good in computers you'll do fine in this class.

I had to go around and teach others the concepts that she taught because she did not do it well enough. Lucky for me computers come natural. If you do not do something exactly the way she likes it she will take off points. Even if the mistake has nothing to do with the coding. She also takes off points for it being late if you hand it in5s late

Great professor. Programing genius. Can be a little short with students if their questions were dumb, but in her defense she was asked a lot of dumb questions. I found the projects to be very easy w/ the exception being the last project. The topic of loops at the end of the semester is pretty tough so ask her for help if you get lost. Received an A

This is my favorite class. She is an awesome teacher. Her notes are clear and she walks you through the program. The textbook is helpful but its not really needed except for getting the program. Projects are fun and you can get very creative with them. Not many tests: just 2-3 quizzes and a final. I highly recommend taking her class.

Don't buy the textbook! She's a good teacher and as long as you attend class you should be fine. But watch those dumb math mistakes because they'll be a big portion off of your grade instead of just some points off.

Great teacher but can be harsh at grading. She takes 20 points off for silly mistakes that should only be a few points off, which affects your grades. She also had us buy the textbook saying we'd use it and we only used it once in class, with her providing us with what we needed. Otherwise, there were 7 projects. The last 2 were kinda rough.

This teacher is the worst. I used to love computer programming and now i cant stand it. She is unfair and rude.. and does not offer any assistance.. Her tests are extremely hard because she teaches so poorly. students literally cried the tests were so hard!I wish i never took her because i might still be interested in programming.. AVOID if you can

I really cannot stand her. Everyone says she's nice but I think she is so mean. She is rude and a very harsh grader. Also I had to makeup a test where everyone in the class got to use their notes and she didn't tell me and did not give me any sort of break. I really hate going to that class.

She is an amazing professor of this subject. I am not good with computers and writing codes and yet i was able to get an A in this class. She makes everything very clear and as long as you come to class and pay attention to her carefully, you shouldn't do too bad.
