Comment:

I'll admit that she had her faults, namely the slower pace and somewhat too frequent minor errors, but overall working with Professor Stallings is a very pleasant experience. Her personality is refreshing, both in class and one-on-one. The format of the class itself is only partly her making, so I can't fault or praise her for it.

Awful professor. Feedback on tests was terrible and when I tried to follow her explanations to fix my work they didn't make any sense. When I tried to ask questions in class she brushed it off and just told me she'd look at it later. Doesn't allow make up work or extra credit. Tests were so hard and the homework and reading quizzes didn't help.

will go through problems during a review session that she will mess up multiple times but say "well you get it". Her logic is impossible to follow. Very nice lady but the WORST math professor I have ever had.

Very sweet lady, but slightly crazy. Her teaching is very confusing, and she's even stated she can't do arithmetic. She will do an entire problem and mess it up completely multiple times within one class. The problems assigned in class are easy and do-able. However, the homework is so difficult. Do not take this class!

Comment:

She is a very nice woman, but an extremely tough grader and teacher. We have online homeworks due multiple times a week that are so tidious. I always put in 100% and feel like I am not getting anything in return. The online homeworks are super tough. The classes confuse me even more.

She never actually had a concrete lecture. Concepts were always up in the air and she basically taught by reviewing homework problems. Although she was somewhat nice, she never supplied handouts and rarely had study guides for exams. I highly recommend to avoid taking her unless you're innately good at math or learning on your own.

She assigns at least 4 hours of homework a night and doesn't explain the answers. Actually she doesn't explain ANYTHING! I used to be a straight-A math student and liked calc in high school. Now I don't even have time to sleep and am STILL not doing well. And her southern accent is NOT what I want to hear at 8:30am!

Professor Stallings is a very kind, sweet woman who is clearly invested in ensuring that her students understand the course material. I struggled in math in high school and Professor Stallings was able to teach the material in a manner that even I understood. As long as you put in the effort needed, she is a fair grader.

She used writing (essay work) in math. I didn't like her style of teaching. She is kind and nice, but I use to get A's in math and I barely passed with her. Not fun, not fun at all.

So I took AP Calc last year and decided to take finite this semester because I hate math...stallings made it not so bad. she's super helpful and VERY lenient if you show up for class and do the work. she let me make up an exam by doing mastery on the final so i could go home for thanksgiving early...just don't be lazy

Finite Math- the class itself is easy, but the way she grades is VERY confusing... enough to make up for the easiness of the class... otherwise she is nice enough and tries to be funny. She is really Southern and it can be annoying in the morning. Attendance is part of the grade... AND DO THE MASTERY, it will kill you otherwise!

Stallings is by far one of the greatest professors ever. She's concise and clear in all her classes. I dreaded having to take math, but Stallings actually managed to make the class enjoyable. And, she always gives her students the opportunity to show they can do better and improve. Beware, she does expect her students to do all the work assigned.
