Grad level course, so clear articulation when presenting your argument is key. Dr. Holter gave fair and honest feedback on assignments. His suggestions on critical thinking when writing essays within the course guide was really helpful and I'll continue to use it. Class should be fully online though. Sending papers through the USPS was brutal.

There is a lot of reading for this class. That is not a complaint on my part, but I am glad I took the course over the summer instead of during the school year (when I teach). I would take another class with Dr. Holter in a heartbeat. He gives valuable and interesting feedback, and I truly enjoyed working with him.

This was an online graduate-level course, so my contact with him was minimal, but I liked his no-frills style. Lightning-fast grader. READ his course guide, and revisit it before each assignment. If you're a HUX student, take 501 in your first semester if possible--it will help you in other courses.

Dr. Holter is a really good lecturer. He is very clear, interesting, and to make thing even better he never has to refer to notes. It is very clear that he is an expert in his field. I got a lot out of his course and would take him again if I had the chance.

Well meaning, but far too easy and had a lecture style of "you copy my notes and don't ask too many questions". In private conversations a fascinating guy. Perhaps I would have enjoyed more as a teacher if not in a lower division class?
