Has a sarcastic sense of humor. go to class and take notes on everything... practise a lot and youll do fine.. he gets annoyed with stupid questions which i thought was funny.. study hard and dont be a slacker and the class isnt bad... theres a lot of useful knowledge!

He does problems similar to the homework in class, so when you do the homework all you have to do is switch numbers. So overall, I feel like I didn't learn much because of that. Also, it was hard to do the problems on the test because of that as well.

Had him for tax. Pretty funny guy. Sounds like Penn Jillette from "Penn & Teller". Really knows his craft. His tests weren't impossible, although you do need to study hard to get an A. He made tax interesting for me.

Teaches by example only. Doesn't like questions from students and treats you like you're stupid if you ask something. Looks at the ceiling while teaching. Trys to be funny (I think) but not at all. Take someone else.

By far he has been the most entertaining teacher I have had at ODU. He is extremely sarcastic and I am not sure if he even means to be funny but hes a good professor. Explains everything he wants you to know and does it very well. I will take him later for sure any chance I get.

He seems like he is one of those old school professors that expects every student to KNOW the material inside and out. You will not pass his tests by skipping class. He has a good handle on accounting and can teach the more complicated methods. I think he curves and doesn't tell anyone.

I've had the pleasure of taking Professor Berry for managerial accounting and corporate taxation. Corp tax is a difficult class, but he does a fabulous job teaching. He has a passion for taxation and it shows. He is absolutely the best accounting professor at ODU!

This class is hard. He gives you print outs of the problems which is nice. He only does problems in class. There are three tests and a final. He also gives 4 graded hw problems, which are pretty easy. He is an ok teacher. His tests are really hard. Attendance is not mandatory, but going to class def helps.

Prof Berry is a pretty cool professor.Students will probably dislike him the first week of classes, however, after the first couple of weeks he is actually very entertaining.Relates most things to real life/world.He has been teaching ACCT for 28 years so he knows what he is talking about. works lots of problems in class.

One of the best professors I have ever had---ESPECIALLY for accounting...NO POWERPOINTS...He works problems continuously on excel...It is a lot of info but when you go back to study you will be surprised how great his teaching style really is...Tests are difficult because you have to know everything inside-out...Hard work but great experience

The hardest class I have taken so far at ODU, but the best professor I've ever experienced. Professor Berry's lecture is extremely entertaining. Attending class is like watching an accounting stand-up routine of very dry humor. He works lots of problems in class instead of boring conceptual lecture. Class attendance is a must.

One of the hardest classes I ever had to take. Material was extremely difficult to grasp in just a 3 hour class per week. God help you if you miss a class because on average it might be close to 2 chapters worth of material.

The best Acct Professor I ever had in ODU. The subject matter is hard, but he explains very clearly with passion. He is very knowledgeable in taxation, gives you valuable advice in life, and helpful if you any relevant questions. He is a respectful and compassionate professor - really cares about your learning.

This teacher is not hard, the subject is. keeps you very busy during class doing hw problems and takes up the whole period. he offers extra credit sometimes, and the hw is easy if you compare it to the example problems and book. the first test is hard, i cried, but the tests after are a lot easier.

Very hard class...... His teaching style is HORRIBLE to me. VERY FAST doesnt explain much but quickly goes through problems and asks if you have any questions after the fact hes done and your still writing down information. Keeps looking at the ceiling and repeats ladies and gentlemen every 3 mins. Very unclear and unexplainatory.

Hard class but he makes it as easy as he can. Goes over many different problems to teach you everything you need to know to do well on his tests. Sometimes he seems annoyed to answer questions but when you talk to him after class he's very friendly and helpful! I would recommend taking him for Accounting classes.
