Comment:
Walter Maner really knows what he's doing. Sometimes he didn't really seem to teach much in class, but he'll work with you on your programming assignments for however much time you need. Really funny guy too! Because of the way he grades (50% C) it's nearly impossible to fail, but it's also extremely difficult to actually get an A.

Professor Maner is a technical genious. He knows what he's doing. That being said, he isn't the best at teaching it. He will, however, work very hard to correct your problems and he will respect and work with you on problems that can totally destroy your programming experience. He's fun, not boring, and crazy. A good choice.

Comment:
I thought I would enjoy CS 420 but man was I wrong. Maner did not distinguish between undergraduates and graduates with grading so us undergrads got compared against undergraduate work. I thought he was cool before the class but man was I wrong. He also did NOT complete the requirement for 400+ classes where graduates had to do some 'extra' work.

The STL was hard to learn enough, but I hadn't had CS325 before I ended up taking this class; he helped everyone with studying for the exams and is a hard grader, but his scale is augmented down and he's very cool. He reminds me of Elroy from the Jetsons all grown up, or maybe just a crazy computer doctor, I'm not sure which one...
