Class is very boring and he reads right off the powerpoint. He grades way too hard on papers and his comments are more insulting than helpful. I would avoid him at all costs.

Honestly one of the best teachers I've ever had. Strict at times but it is with good intent in that he strives for students to do well. He has a very laid back teaching style with lectures and drills every day but when it comes to learning a language at university level I don't believe you could ask for more than what he offers

He is very knowledgeable, but he is definitely the most boring prof ever. He dims the lights and reads the texts from PP a lot, it just puts everyone to sleep. Tests require a lot of memorization but if you put the time into it they are easy. He is very opinionated and asking questions or providing answers can be very frustrating b/c of this.

He seems nice and is funny sometimes but is very impatient with anyone that can't recite the endings to the declensions RAPID FIRE. If you're too slow he moves on. Randomly calls on people and implies that they haven't studied at all if they can't answer the question/translate. The quizzes/tests are hard but have extra credit, memorize every day.

He is well-versed in his subjects. Quite possibly one of the most intelligent professors on campus. He drops hints of his life story during lecture which surprises everyone; he was born in the USSR before WW2, raised in post-war Germany, speaks Greek, Latin, Russian, German and has a very intimate knowledge of Indian culture. Take his class!

Awesome Prof. Yale graduate, knows his subject and teaches it PERFECTLY. His interest in what he teaches extends to the students. Tests are hard for this level of class, but he curves EVERY ASSIGNMENT so that the top student has 100%. Loved this class and I think during break now about whatI learned. Made movies about rome/greece make so much sense

Nice guy, really passionate about what he does. Enjoyed the subject. Reading the book was like reading stereo instructions, but luckily he used powerpoints. Required minimal effort. Go to class, read the powerpoints a few times, & anybody would be fine. oh, worst part of the class, we never got out on time

He covers a lot of material and gives the students allt eh information they need to do well. He challenges a bit with the essay portions of his exams, but i think that's good prep for students. Very interesting class to. I'd reccomend it. :D
