Comment:

He does give work, although it is not work that you do just to get the grade and never use again. You take away good lessons from this class and Chuck really inspired me and every person in the class. Unlike the other teachers who focus on work and grades he makes sure we learn something and I know EVERYONE did.

Comment:

Had him for world sustainability and it was painful. Don't expect him to let you out early because he will talk for 3 and a 1/2 hours straight. Most of the time he went off topic completely and just ranted about whatever he felt like. The worst part was the group project that was 75% of our grade, which he gave us a bad grade. Beware!!

such a generous professor. he would literally listen to everyone's problems and he knows how to make class fun. He can talk a lot but it doesn't bother you since he is a sweet man. He would help you out with anything you want and has very interesting stories. TAKE HIM!!!!!

He talks non-stop about his own eco-friendly life and random personal stuff which is kind of boring. He rarely ends class early. A big cons is that many of his lectures takes place at the Saltbox, 10 min drive from the college in N.Y. state; if you don't have a car you must constantly ask other students to get you there which is annoying!

Great class. I am a conservative and I did not feel out of place at all in this class. I had no interest in the subject but actually left the class with a new perspective and a ton of new knowledge. 3 small papers and a 5-8 page final paper. No tests. Chuck is really funny and interesting and you will learn a lot even if you are a conservative!

Had him for World Sustainability. He's a crazy guy, but as the semester went on, I started to really listen to him. He is very liberal and will ramble on about The Occupy Movement or how evil Reagan was during some classes. We went on some cool field trips and he cancelled class a lot. Only work was short write-ups and a final group presentation

Took Chuck for Ecology, Society and the Sacred-veryyy interesting class and can he talk!! He does tend to drone on and on but he's hearts in the right place, over all a very interesting guy with a unique take on life.

Global ethics class; was interesting at the beginning of the semester, but by the end was just ready for the class to end. Had us come to class AFTER dorms were closed to turn in our finals and have an hour of class; never responded to emails sent to him; no tests, just had to keep a journal, but not sure that easiness was worth it.

I liked him at first. I appreciate the fact that he isn't politically correct and talks about issues you don't here anywhere else. But he is so full of himself that he sometimes forgets he's in a classroom. Students never get to talk. During presentations, he'll rudely cut you off after 2 minutes of speaking but will go on for a half hour himself.

def different from most professors. He is very passionate, well educated, intellectual, inspirational&active in his area. He brings REAL life issues to the forefront. You will learn so much in his interesting class. He has some great ideas but can be a bit radical and judgemental at times. Even tho it was easy I learned more than in any other class
