This guy was amazing. I took several German and Spanish classes with him as I was a German major and Spanish minor. I graduated back in 1995 but Dr. S. was always helpful and of course you have to participate. He was very interesting and totally gifted with tons of knowledge about language and culture from his background. I learned a lot.

I loved Dr. Suess, he was a wonderful professor. I really enjoyed going to his classes as a German major. He was fair, honest and made the classes interesting. He was a challenging professor which is what I needed. I was very impressed with him over the 5 years I had him as a professor at WWU.

When I first took this class I didn't like it a ton, but I think it wasn't because of him. He's a really nice guy, and VERY helpful. I haven't been in his class for more than a year, but he emailed me to tell me that he's more than happy to help me with choosing a study abroad program. Great guy.

Walter Suess is a great teacher. He is kind, helpful, funny, intelligent (speaks 7 languages!), and practiced. If you try hard, you will do well. If he's your teacher, making an effort in class will dramatically boost your grade. Tests don't seem to matter to him as much as class participation and effort.

The most evil man on earth! If you ask him for help, you won't get it. He has "favorites", and if you're not one, he will mark you down. DON'T take german from him if you can help it!! He is VERY scary and attempts to make you believe in his religious and political views. STAY AWAY!

First of all, why is he teaching Spanish? He didn't give a syllabus until 4th week, is unbelievably scattered and hard to follow. I usually get good grades, but I have no idea what I'm being graded on and know I'll be behind next term. He may have personal issues we are not aware of, but he's missed like 1/4 of the classes (at least once a week!).
